Why do you need to remake the game? I don't quite understand the need for gamers these days to have nice shiny graphics. It's the STORY that you should be concentrating on, or the game play not how pretty it looks. As people have already said, play the original. It would cost less to go out buy a ps1 and the original FFVII than it would to buy a flashy new copy for the Xbox 360/PS3

I would say if it's going to be remade, it needs to be on PS3 and 360. Mostly because I'm a slight fanboy when it comes to VII and I have a 360. It would also generate all sorts of revenue I'm sure. However, if the game were to be remade, I wouldn't want anything but graphics changed (with the exception of MAYBE adding in side quests that were left out of the original game due to time restraints, if there were any). I don't want the game ruined because of poor quality fan service.

IX was excellent. The last true Final Fantasy Game.
Somebody didnt like the best one in the series.
(ten)
Ten was good but it lacked alot of things that made I-IX brilliant. The overworld Map was left out. It was all just a bit too much of a linear experience for my liking. you couldn't go where ever you wanted until you had access to the inside of Sin.

The 360 couldn't handle it (i.e. the graphics, gameplay, sheer awesome)
simple as that.

PS3 all the way.

i know everyone on this post is going to crucify me for this but i would rather they made a remake of ff9 for new generation systems

Nah, I know a few people who feel that way. They've all played both and preferred 9. I think in once case it's because the guy did finish 7 since he already knew so much about the story though.

But it can handle final fantasy 13, oh wait. That makes what you said into nonsense, nevermind.

The 360's graphics are only marginaly worse than the PS3's, its barely even noticable. The 360's controller is a much better design in terms of comfort than the PS3's clone PS1 controller. And PS3 and 360 are bothe AWESOME!!!

9 was the greatest one in my opinion and i'd love to see a remake. (I mean remake as in looks prettier and upgraded not redone entirely.)

I don't mind either way if they make a remake or not but if they did then I suppose the logical choices as to where it should go would be the PS3 and 360 (just due to the fact that there isn't any real reason it should be limited to a particular console but trying to intergrate the Wii motion controls would just be a waste of time and a pain in the ass).

I disagree, and I'd like to see it as a graphically updated download for the PSN, XBox Live, and Steam. Hopefully, Steam will actually make it available now that they've partnered with Square Enix.

Sorry but your wrong (in a sense), the PS3 version of "FFXIII" is going to be completely different to the 360 version, as well as "FF vs. XIII" being a PS3 exclusive.

Though i sympathise with 360 owners, because its impossible to play the FF game to the way it was intended (unless you get it like this "to enter the shop, please enter disc 17").

You can't have the best of both worlds, you have Halo, we have Killzone, you have Gears of War, we have Final Fantasy.

See what i mean?

I am getting a bit tired of developers trying to shoe-horn in needless wiggle controls onto everything. FFVII on Wii could quite easily have sideways wii remote or remote and nunchuck controls without gimmicky motion controls.

Wait what? Source a shred of credibility into that please. Also, in case you missed it Final Fantasy isn't batting solely for sony anymore

You are a very bitter individual. Don't sweat it. Square's doing it for the money and will probably continue to do it for the money. I had Playstation systems up until the PS3. I played both the 360 and the PS3 as I had friends who owned both. I preferred the 360. While the graphics aren't as good and we don't have you precious Blu-Ray, I'm sure it would do fine.

The two versions of XIII are going to be exactly the same. They're being developed simultaneously by the same development team! just split into two groups and collaborating on everything. the 360 version is even using a tweaked version of the crystal tools engine!

Yea with all this talk about remakes and exclusive titles..you know what. come to think of it, I'd really like to get my hands on the original and just sit down and play through it again.
