Poll: Finishing Final Fantasy.

I love the FF games but I never finish them. In fact, of the 7 main entries that I've tried I haven't finished a single one.

In FF X I stopped during the last boss fight.

FF VIII I stopped before the last boss.

In VII, VI, XII I got to around 50% and in XIII, V I stopped after a few hours.

I talked to some people and the problem seems to be shared. I don't know why but I never get to complete the buggers.

So what is your track record of the games? Any reasons you quit?

I've only completed 1 (IX) and the rest I've lost interest in while playing.

Thanks to the new system of achievements i've only started to become a completionist player. But in Final Fantasy terms i've only really played 3 games and that a little of 7, Crisis Core and 13. Niether of which i completed (yet) but i will make it my duty to complete them.

I finished IV, VI, VII, VIII, IX, and X (and Tactics and Crystal Chronicles if you count them).

Haven't played XII nor XIII yet. Only one I started but didn't complete was X-2 I think.

Oh and complete means I finished the main story, never could be arsed to do all the sidequests, since they usually give unnecesary bonusses or items at the cost of long hours of grinding.

I decided on 75%, because while I always kill the big bad and save the world etc, I can never bother with the fiddly stuff, for example WHO HAS THE PATIENCE TO AVOID 200 LIGHTNING STRIKES? And I generally leave a few enemies undefeated (*yes* ruby weapon, I'm looking at you). But I get the plot done, I've never gotten bored during the actual story of the seven or so I've played.

VII, VIII, IX, X, X-2, XII and XIII, the first five of which I did everything in, I have completed. The last two do not compare to any of the previous installments imo.
I - I started, but the holidays ended before I finished it and I have never in the years since got back to it. Was enjoying it though.
II - AHHHHHHHHH!!! For a game that is fairly sandbox in appearance, if you take one step in the wrong direction it royally fucks you over.
I haven't played 3-6.

I've completed them all 100% except for IV, and XII (i'm currently in the middle of restarting 12 but it's so hard to do when XIII just came in the mail >.<

Finished I and III-X, currently working on XII. However, none of them have I completed 100%; Just the main story and a few sidequests. Some of the big baddies simply are too much for me.

How could you stop 50% into Final Fantasy VI... that's amazing.

Well I actually really enjoyed VI. Much more so than VII or some others. It's just circumstances, I guess. I think I got a little more than 50% but can't tell because it's hard to approximate length. I thought the narrative kind of lost steam after the Terra Esper bit, I went into the factory but stopped after that I think. I don't have my saves anymore so restarting isn't really an option.

lol as soon as it starts to get difficult i tend to stop playing as i don't think it's a game worth trying over. (apart from FF7 i completed that and it was AWESOME!!!)

I don't always get all the extra stuff, but I try to get a lot of it and I almost always finish the games. Working on catching up with all those: I love the Final Fantasy series.

Sheesh, I'm rather stunned that you didn't finished most of them. I can't stop laughing at the idea!

Note* Ok, that was bad, but I haven't seen you in a while.

I remember finishing 4 at 100%. 5 at 90%. Never finished 6 by myself. 7,8,9 varies between 95 to 70.

2nd note* I skipped some sidequests. I completed all the main stories.
