third when i´m talking, shopping and stuff like that, but first when i´m battling in a dungeon, third for dragons, first for humanoid and small enemies, third for climbing a mountain, first for walking in the forest or the normal routes... a good mix

I use third person for everything but navigating small corridors and trying to grab loot. Nabbing objects off the floor in third person is unpossible. I also seem to have a better aim in third person, but maybe I'm just crazy.

Oh and sniping works better in first person as well.

3rd person for traveling across Skyrim...1st person for any sort of combat or interaction.

Anyone notice that something isn't right about archery? The arrows don't go where you aim them anymore. Like if I aim for an NPC's abdomen, I always find the arrow in their head. Or if I lead them because they are walking, I miss. If you aim for their head, you also miss.
That only seems to be an issue in first person. Just aim lower than you normally would, or try third person.

If I'm in a fight against a horde of average enemies - like those spectres in Meridia's temple, I'll switch to third person. Two swords and the Nightingale armour looks incredibly badass against them all.
I would do this if the game didn't have it so my tail (argonian) protruded weirdly through the cape and spaz around all the time!

Come on!

So yeah, 1st most of the time, 3rd occasionally.

third person mostly but i switch to first person when in a tight space or when i want to examine something closer. otherwise i just get a very small field of view in first person because i have a square screen at the moment.

I stay in first most of the time, but will occasionally switch to third while traveling a long distance, I spent time making this character, I may as well see him for a time.

First, and those forced 3rd person killing animations annoy me greatly. Hard to be immersed when i instantly zoom out of my own head, nevermind the fact that expecially with dragons you usually float a metre to the side of where the animation should be centred.
i think you can turn those off ? @ the finisher animations.
try searching in the options.

also OT: 3rd person exept when the game is buggin out during swimming. or in REALY tight quarters.

Third person mostly. The character animations have improved to the point that it doesn't look ridiculous anymore. The field of view in first person view is also rather narrow and claustrophobic. I only use it when I need to see something up close.

I'm a mage but still can't aim for shit in the third person view. It's almost as if someone has put a bucket over my head.
I see what you did there. ;)

1st person almost all the time.

3rd person for screenshots and looking around corners.

i don't have the game but saw a review of it and, given that i would probably be a using swords a lot, third person would suite me better

3rd person only very rarely to see what I look like.

Otherwise, 1st person all the way

Third person, i somehow lose any hint of immersion if i play it in first person. Also i like seeing my character.
When playing an RPG, using first-person makes you lose immersion? Weird, I always find the opposite breaks the 4th wall. Can't do 3rd person when first-person is available more times then not.

I spent the first play through (until it became unplayable due to the lag) as a warrior in 1st person, mostly out of habit. I started a thief character recently though, and I've been playing in 3rd as much as possible. Hitting moving or ranged targets with a bow or spells is a chore in 3rd person though, and it can be limiting in tight spaces, so I usually switch to 1st for those things. Oh, and trying to pick up small objects or activate anything on the ground or on a table is virtually impossible in 3rd person. I actually really like the way my character looks and animates. It makes me feel cool watching him fight from the outside. I can really see him leaning into his swings. That and it makes me feel like significantly more of a baws when I can see me skulking in the shadows as the guards walk obliviously past. So yeah, I prefer 3rd person, and I think I'll be using it a lot from now on.
