What was your first thread posted (if posted), and what did you learn?

Mine was about agreeing on Yahtzee's view on games. *facepalm* I learned my lesson and I feel a little less noobish.

My first thread made it three pages I believe. Not a huge success, but not a failure, at least, I don't think it was. :p

First thread... I believe that was asking about homework. Either that or asking about humorous stories that made one angry at first. One of those two.

I forgot what my first thread was.... I don't know maybe something about...shesh I don't even know. But it was probably a bad one, no one really comments on your threads unless you've gone gonzo.

What happened was that I wanted to make a thread on what people's favorite ZP episodes were. However, me having experience with forums, I thought it'd be a good idea to see if someone already made such a topic with the search bar. It looked like nobody made a thread called "Favorite Zero Punctuation Episode" so I made it and it turned out, whaddya know, someone DID make a thread about it.

Except it didn't appear in the search bar because the first thread to do it spelled favorite like "Favourite". So I ended up being perceived as a noob, when I actually USED THE SEARCH BAR!

Yeah, it didn't go well...

I wanted to see if the order in which people watched the episodes of the melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya had any impact on them liking it or not, so I made a poll asking in which order people watched the episodes, and whether they liked the series.

Should probably have posted that thread in a dedicated anime-forum, barely any people replied.

Personally I'm confused by the changing pronouns in the poll options, I'm left wondering if we're talking about you, me or my neighbour Tony.

Seriously, mine was a fan rage, pretty protracted. Annoyingly it seems I am one of those Brits that when sufficiently annoyed write a scathing letter. How embarrasingly stereotypical of me.

It went great. It was about rage quitting in real life (i.e. jobs, school, etc.). It got me that "hot topic" badge.

Went pretty well. I got the Hot Topic badge for it, so I'm pretty proud.

It was about how video games influenced people's opinions about joining the army.

I can't remember my first thread. None of my threads have ever got to three pages worth of posts though.

If I'm thining of the right first thread, it was about the saddest moments in any form of media.

It got about a page and a half, and got me a badge for a lot of people reading it, and then someone who had been here longer and was more well known made exactly the same thread the next day. Word for word mine.

Their's got to about eight pages, but I still consider mine to have been a success actually, because it was clearly a good idea, I just didn't have the post count to back it up.

(I am in no way still sore about this, and am also in no way glad that the person who reposted it, who shall remain unnamed, was banned about a month later.)

My first thread (actually, my ONLY one so far) was a request for help from the Escapist community to identify a movie that I vaguely remembered having seen on TV some 15 years ago. I could remember next to nothing about it, apart from a small number of plot details, most of which it turned out I'd gotten spectacularily wrong.

Despite this, the movie was positively identified within two days. It was "Mystery Date" (1991), starring Ethan Hawke and Teri Polo. Thanks again, AjimboB!
