Lol... yeah... free for genestealers a few points for most other creatures... roll a 6 gets a glancing blow, another 6 destroys it and each genestealer has 4 attacks... so there's a decent chance I can get it.Admiral Stukov said:Automatic glance on a roll of 6? Because then it's identical to the Gauss (ranged weapons) and Disruption Fields (Melee) Necron special rules.AnkaraTheFallen said:Could be killed by genestealers as well... rending claws give automatic glancing blows so any tanks can be destroyed by them regardless of armour.
The former is standard on every single range weapon, the latter costs 2pts.
I read the book that happened in about a week ago.IndianaJonny said:That's just...badass. I never knew that, thanks. Wow, that's pretty deep; the 40K boys have surpassed themselves on that one.Scorched_Cascade said:I think that poster meant the whole "loyalist traitor" thing. Basically during the Horus Heresy an alien seer foresaw two outcomes from the Horus Heresy and informed the Alpha Legion of the two choices they had.IndianaJonny said:*snip*
One was the grim reality that 40k is today where untold trillions are massacred or brutalized in an eternity of war where humanity clings to its half life. Humanity is destined never to grow ascendant again but instead to wither and die jealously guarding its territories and bickering amongst themselves. This would come to pass if Alpha Legion stayed loyal.
The other possibility was an unthinkable decision. If the Alpha Legion turned traitor and fought against their sworn brothers there was the possibility of a bright future. In this possible future humanity goes out with one big bang, Horus strikes down the Emperor and every human is killed but in their death throes the Imperium takes all the Chaos Gods with it into non-existence. All the other residents of the galaxy get to live in a universe akin to pre-chaos times where souls can reincarnate back into new bodies when they die, fast travel has no dangers, no one needs fear for their souls and the warp is a calm place.
That is why their warcry is "For the Emperor!" for they are the most loyal of the loyalist. They chose a great sacrifice in the hopes of making the galaxy a greater place. Unfortunately fate had other designs and the actions of others caused the bright future not to come to pass. Namely Horus' overconfidence/hesitation in the siege of Terra when he lowered his ship shields which allowed the Emperor and Sanguinius to teleport aboard. Basically Horus screwed the plan by seeing what he had become at the last moment and lamenting.
Their sacrifice was all for naught and no one knows.
That was the main reason I wanted to make an alpha legion army... just to mess with people who thought I was using an evil army... well, that and all their units can infiltrate.Moonpooman said:I read the book that happened about a week ago.IndianaJonny said:That's just...badass. Weird.
But mine are ranged!AnkaraTheFallen said:Lol... yeah... free for genestealers a few points for most other creatures... roll a 6 gets a glancing blow, another 6 destroys it and each genestealer has 4 attacks... so there's a decent chance I can get it.
Lol... well nids are really fast and good in combat but are terrible for ranged... well their psychic powers are very good I guess.Admiral Stukov said:But mine are ranged!
[sub][sub]On the other hand there's the fact that the necrons have nothing with longer range than 36" >.<[/sub][/sub]
With their current codex 'crons are terrible at melee, and barely decent at shooting. Still pretty resilient though.AnkaraTheFallen said:Lol... well nids are really fast and good in combat but are terrible for ranged... well their psychic powers are very good I guess.Admiral Stukov said:But mine are ranged!

Lol... After seeing a broodlord kill Abadon the despoiler I've stopped fearing any units to be honest. Still... awesome feat though, to do that.Admiral Stukov said:With their current codex 'crons are terrible at melee, and barely decent at shooting. Which is why I turned to Guard until the new 'cron 'dex.
Fear the underpriced close combat monster that is Straken, he who can destroy a dreadnought on the charge without even having a power weapon.
And he's only 95pts. Comes with Fearless and a 12" Furious Charge + Counter Attack aura. :3AnkaraTheFallen said:Lol... After seeing a broodlord kill Abadon the despoiler I've stopped fearing any units to be honest. Still... awesome feat though, to do that.
Admiral Stukov said:I've seen a battle report of an Emperor Titan being killed by necron warriors.AnkaraTheFallen said:Sorry to say but I've seen one of those killed by a squad of 3 genestealers not really that scary since then.
A 2500pts titan killed by the basic troop choice.
Nice... I just love that genestealers and broodlords can move so fast, infitrate, have a decent armour save, rending claws and can attack so much when they charge. And they don't even cost that many points.Admiral Stukov said:And he's only 95pts. Comes with Fearless and a 12" Furious Charge + Counter Attack aura. :3AnkaraTheFallen said:Lol... @The necron pic: Not anymore though. In 5th ed the most a glancing hit can do is immobilize. Which makes the Titan-kill even more impressive.Scorched_Cascade said:-snippety-
Damn... that makes my genestealer army not as good as it was anymoreAdmiral Stukov said:@The necron pic: Not anymore though. In 5th ed the most a glancing hit can do is immobilize. Which makes the Titan-kill even more impressive.
Aaand he hits like a Monstrous Creature.AnkaraTheFallen said:Nice... I just love that genestealers and broodlords can move so fast, infitrate, have a decent armour save, rending claws and can attack so much when they charge. And they don't even cost that many points.
They used to be unstoppable when they allowed the myetic spores rule... could deep strike into cover or even into combat with no penalties. ^.^
Then I guess you can share the pain.AnkaraTheFallen said:Damn... that makes my genestealer army not as good as it was anymore
Ah well.. was probably a bit unbalanced anyway.
Very nice... and I thought all guard were weak humans, lolAdmiral Stukov said:Aaand he hits like a Monstrous Creature.AnkaraTheFallen said:Nice... And has 5 WS 5 attacks on the charge. :3
I'll need to include more carnifexes and psychics in my army then.Admiral Stukov said:Then I guess you can share the pain.AnkaraTheFallen said:Damn... that makes my genestealer army not as good as it was anymore
