Perhaps if I said something absolutely outrageous or if I came across a dedicated troll then I might suffer some retribution, but it's unlikely (I'm fairly sane in my opinions).
Dedicated trolls wouldn't have to be that dedicated anymore, and there's too many of them already.

The corners of the internet that we frequent would empty in seconds.

I'd actually be happy to keep on posting, but there'd be no one to talk to. ;___;

Doesn't matter to me. In fact, I use a picture of myself as an avatar because, if I'm going to talk shit or argue my opinion with someone, I want the person I'm speaking to to know me as more than a faceless entity. Plus, it keeps me honest and fair. Some people think I do it out of narcissism, but that's far from the case.
I've contemplated doing that too, but never got around to it. I might do it when I finish this post though.

OT: Couldn't care less. I've said and done some horrendous things on the internet in my time, but I'm fairly confident the history will show an evolution of my personality and my ideologies up to now. Each of those past actions led to me learning something new about myself, or the world around me, and I fully believe I'm a better person for it.

Nothing big for me.
I don't troll and what I write on the internet are my real beliefs and thoughts. I also never threathen people and the only place I really post is here. I am anonomus here but I still feel like what I do on the internet is what I need to stand for. More and more is happening on the internet and I doubt, that if someone wanted to find me, from this internet site it wouldn't even take half a workday to find me, maybe not exact address, but I doubt they wouldn't be far from it.

The more I think about it, the more I want that period of time to last longer than just 24-48 hours...

In other words, BRING IT ON!

"Hey... Why isn't anyone 'talking' during this time period?"

...It's not what it looks like. I swear.

Meh, so I look at naked women and torrent some books, stream a few TV shows. Sue me. If you can see my bank account too then you know it isn't worth it. Heh heheheh...*breaks down into quite sobbing*

I'm firmly in the "more harm than good" camp. Mostly because I'm not fond of being stalked. Too much of a headache, and killing your stalker carries a harsher sentence than them coming into your home to molest your pillows. Anonymity has its uses and its side-effects.

You don't have to say or post anything to use the internet, and its most harmful uses tend to involve more accessing data than uploading your own. In that 24-48 hour period, I wouldn't post a damn thing, and I'd hope that my previous posts didn't retroactively display my name... in addition to the stalking problem, we also have identity theft. A real name linked to an account pseudonym is one of the major pieces of info needed to accomplish that particular crime.

Guard your data carefully, folks. What trolls do isn't serious, what can be done with access to your personal information is.
