I've thought about getting the feet version, just because my toenails are kinda shitty, and it would be nice to have a real clean and cut, but it's too much money for something that's not "bothering" me.

Never thought about it for my hands though, I can trim and clean those just fine on my own

No, I take care of my own fingernails because I know the correct length I need to provide utility. (back scratching, opening soda cans, makeshift screwdriver) while avoiding some of the more...intimate complications that can come with being a guy with longer fingernails.

It's a factor...shut up.

As for pedicure, no. But that's entirely because I think feet are fucking gross and I have no desire to pay someone to touch mine.

Nope, I'm far too manly...

Nah, I'm one of those people who if offered for free would go "why the fuck not?" (in those exact words with a deep, raspy voice, because I'd have to still establish my masculinity). It's not something I'd actually go out and do or pay for, since like most of the blokes around here I cut my own nails and my hands sweat so much (current theory if overactive sweat glands) that even my callouses feel soft (it's a blessing and a curse).

No, and I don't plan to either, even if it were free. I cut my nails about once a week and that's where my interest in them dies. I really don't care for colours or shininess or smooth edges or whatever else - I mean, yeah on chicks, but not for myself. Just seems a little weird to me.
This is how I feel about it. There is no reason to mess with nails other than to keep them from getting too long or from snagging on stuff.

Not a man, still got an opinion.

If you earn less than, say, $120,000.00 annually and work less than, say, 60 hours per week, I would consider manicure and pedicure to be a luxury item that a man gets for himself either because he likes to spend money he doesn't have, he's gay or he's a self-declared style icon.

Don't get me wrong. I do appreciate well groomed hands and feet, but I just think that the average female will handle it herself if she's got any amount of self respect, and she's also responsible for the hands and feet of her significant other. If he refuses, so be it. Not all males can or have to be properly domesticated. Rawr.

I can't accept hobbit feet, though. The hair is a male characteristic brought upon by man juice. That's OK. Fugly toenails is totally not acceptable. Get it fixed. Maintain them properly. I'd rather have a horde of hairy males with stinky feet than a bunch of manbeasts with yellow, cracked, splintery and fungus-infected rear paws. Ew, gross. Go get that pedi. See a doctor first.

Nah, I've got nail clippers for that.

Although I've heard some pedicures (those are for feet, right?) come with massages, and that's something I could appreciate. Still, I'd be too embarrassed to get one.

I've never paid to have someone else do my nails, although it sounds like it might be fun. I do, however, keep my nails neatly trimmed and filed at all times and wear nail polish.

Book me in for a no. I have nothing against it, but no reason or desire to either. Though I still have an annoying nail pickibg/biting habit from my childhood, it doesn't concern me as much as the teeth-clenching problem I also can't seem to kick. Nails, who cares?

I am an extreme nail Biter, so no.

No amount of grooming could make my nails look nice until I kick this habit, that and I just don't care how my fingers look.

The most attention I've ever paid to my nails was when I shattered my big toe nail kicking a bicycle (I was drunk and the bicycle was being disrespectful). I used toothpicks to prize the nail up so it wouldn't become ingrown but unfortunately a shard I didn't know was there ended up digging into the skin. Home surgery time!

With a straight razor I proceeded to, day by day, add small incisions to the side of my toe, and coated the bastard in teatree oil as an antiseptic. After a few days I could see the nail as a white hard patch through the skin. The next day, one more small incision & tweezers = shard of nail successfully removed without anaesthetic or a doctor.

Now, I say there was no anaesthetic .... that doesn't mean it didn't hurt. If you've ever stubbed your toe with a nasty piece of sharp nail growing through it you'll know the blinding white-blue flash of pain that I experienced every step.

But hey. At least I didn't need a doctor.

I was in a position to receive a manicure once, while I was stranded with my mom while she went in for an appointment, but I had just torn all of my fingernails off and didn't feel like displaying that carnage to a professional and ask them to clean it up for me. Otherwise, I probably would have gone for it.

A lot of people don't seem to know what a pedicure/manicure is.
It is true, you can very easily keep your own nails trimmed on your own with clippers and that is fine for folks who do not want anything more done.

Getting a mani/pedicure however is not just clipping.
It can consist of buffing, light reshaping, polishing(Not nail polish), soaking, and overall nail and cuticle health.
As well it's not just limited to the toes, pedicures treat the whole foot too.

I mean it's not a necessary thing obviously, but for men or women who want it, they aren't wasting their money as they are getting something they can't get at home, provided the salonist knows what they are doing.
Also pedicures can keep ingrown nails from occurring.

@Ringo_Plumen Same for me. My nails are atrocious and I'd be horrified to see whatever look a salonist would conjure up upon seeing them.

Nope, and I doubt I ever will.

Not because it's feminine or anything; just because the idea just makes me cringe. I'd hate somebody fussing over my nails.

I play classical guitar, so I cut my nails in a specific shape for that. So no, I haven't and probably won't ever do that. A pedicure, maybe.

A lot of the marathoners I know get pedicures to shave off their freakishly massive calluses. It freaks me out just thinking about it (becuase it's basically taking a cheese grater to your foot), but hey.

Nope, even someone cutting my hair makes me feel uncomfortable. I only go to hairdressers because I couldn't get away with cutting my own hair. (Unless I went bald, maybe I should try being bald.)

I'm not a guy, but I've had just one pedicure and one manicure done before, both in the past year, and at the insistence of another person.

I was mortified to have the pedicure, since my feet were heavily calloused and nasty from the army ten years ago. And I have to admit, my feet went from being a hideous mess to being completely smooth normal feet (after they took a cheese grater to them). I highly recommend that, even to guys, and I know quite a few guys who have done it. No need to get your toenails painted or anything.

My mom talked me into getting my fingernails done when I was visiting at Christmas. I always kept my nails very short cause I'm a pianist and seemed pointless to fuss with them. And unlike the practical pedicure, these people wrecked my fingernails. It makes my skin crawl just to think about it. They took a file and actually like...sanded down the enamel of my fingernails and I have no clue why, other than maybe to make the paint stick. Well, it peeled off after one day, and my nails have been nasty, chipping, and weak since then and are just now finally growing back to normal.

My mom insists that wasn't normal and they were actually probably escaped psychopaths, but now I'm really hesitant to ever try that again D:

A girl tried to give me one once. I let her file my nails for a few minutes, joked with her about it, then proceeded to get her number and spend a few nights getting busy with her. That's about the closest I've gotten though, so no, not really. Usually I just bite my nails down to a reasonable size and call it good. I don't think I even own nail clippers...

No. As a female I probably wouldn't either. I hate that kind of stuff. I just clip 'em and get it over with.
