Being Swedish, I don't actually have Fox news on anything other than the internet.
What I've seen of it is basically just youtube clips, and I have to say it's great entertainment.

The Daily show is better though.
More reliable and funnier.

When there is nothing decent playing on the comedy channels, I switch to Fox News.

I live in Canada and don't get fox news.

But I know what they're about, I've had the (mis)fortune of viewing quite a couple of shows on the internet. Hilarious until you start understanding that some people are really that fucking retarded. Stuff like Glenn Beck, for example.

You could not possibly defend it as something that's okay but "simply goes against your beliefs". Really. Anyone retarded enough to believe most of the things said on that show is probably classified as a plant.

There's such thing as a valid opinion and a stupid opinion. Conservative/Liberal political opinions for the most part belong under the "valid" - they both have idiotic ideas, but generally they're okay. Believing that sky is the mother goddess embracing Earth, for example, or that sun orbits Earth, are examples of invalid opinions. The first one could get by as a bad metaphor, but the second one is just downright retarded. Unfortunately most "conservative"-affiliated political characters often share some of the indefensibly stupid opinions. Not that your generic liberals are that much better, they're a whole other can of worms.

More on topic, I guess. Generally I do not watch news on TV. I have little interest in politics because as far as majority goes everything's a shithole. If I terribly need news, I get it on the web.

You've nailed it. While I don't read newspapers, most broadcasters are quite bad. The only broadcasters I trust are BBC. They're probably the least biased reporters out there.
Actually even BBC as been noted as having a Lefist bias.
Though I personally watch BBC from time to time and find nothing biased about the reporting, there have been a couple stories where they were clearly being leftwing(what can I say, that trend started in the late 60s).

I'd say that the hard news stories by the BBC show no bias (and are in fact notable for brilliant and fair journalism). However, the feature writing allows for opinion, and generally the opinions of BBC journalists would be considered left-of-centre, I'd dare guess (that's been my experience), though this "left" is also anti-Communist, as the BBC is quite the free press advocate organisation, and often publishes stories about the Chinese Government trying to censor content. But of course, I agree with these opinions and think that they should have a platform, so I generally find this kind of expression as enlightening for the world community. In fact, I kind of wish that the BBC had some (more) popularity in the US.

I hate Fox News, my parents eat up everything Glenn Beck says and blame Obama for EVERYTHING wrong in their lives(yet call democrats hate-mongers for bashing Bush's presidency).

I'm Libertarian by political persuasion(socially progressive and pro-free market), so I dislike Consevatives due to their sheer biogtry;Liberals due to their history of impractical financial reforms and failed social-financial endeavors. I consider Republicans and Democrats to be practically similar as far as their incompetence goes.

The way I see, very few news outlets can be considered non-biased.

They're bias is often despicable, but they exist ONLY because there was a market. Around the 70's,American TV news quit reporting and became the propaganda arm for the Socialist movement. It was only a matter of time before a propaganda arm for the Reactionary movement would be created.

When I turn on TV news for breaking stuff, I ALWAYS go for Fox News. When I want actual news, I go to Fox's source: THE DRUDGE REPORT

sidenote: calling Glenn Beck (or Keith Olbermann) names will NEVER fix ANYTHING!! Ever. Under Any Circumstances.
If anything it ensures they always have defenders

Some guy made it his mission to expose Fox of all that it does wrong, and he backs it all up with facts.

Very true. I watch BBC News America on certain mornings (much my right-wing family's disapproval) and I don't mind center-of-left (it balances out my otherwise center-of-right opinions). As I said in my own post above, I'm socially liberal and also conservative on matters of the free market. I do however find myself being a Rawlsian when I try to be more open minded and pragmatic.

I disagree, the B.B.C. is unbiased and only reports what actually happens.

I tried watching them a few times. Perhaps if their bias wasn't so blatant & they would stop hating on stuff I like. & maybe if they stop asking for viewer opinions & focus less on ratings & more on facts.

There's also idiocy like this:

I remember this one story where this man was nakked in his own home, he had a hangover & was making himself coffee at like 5am while it was still dark outside. This woman taking her little girl for crack-of-dawn walkies spots him. She walks across his lawn & peers though the shades of his windows, then she calls the cops & notifies the news.

So FOX shows up & makes the man look evil & the woman look like the victim. Too bad for the reporter; everyone in the comments agreed that the woman was a tresspassing peeping Tom & FOX was taking her side.

My thoroughly uneducated NERD RAGE anser would be: "Well you know, the people who actually LIKE Fox News don't like to make "informed" decisions; they want like-minded people to do the thinking for them. They want to stay in their comfort bubble & blame all their worries on scapegoats & believe that all problems are caused by a single source."

BBC World News is unbiased, because they're not American, but in the UK, plain old BBC News is plenty biased. Charlie Broker loved taking cracks at them on Newswipe.

The only non-biased news show I can think of is the News Hour with Jim Leherer(sp?). I don't know when it's on, I only know it's on PBS.

I agree with Eclectic Dreck. The problem with news in the US is that we don't separate entertainment from reporting. A journalist/news anchor's job is to give us facts without bias (and for those saying that it's impossible for a human to be unbiased, that's BS in reference to a news reporter doing their job. It is perfectly easy to put your bias on hold for an hour and read some facts off a screen. Journalists from the past did it all the time.BBC still does it. You may have your own personal feelings but you don't have to share them 24/7.) and to be a watchdog for the government by making sure the average citizen knows the truth about events in the world so we the people can make intelligent decisions. Instead we have conspiracy theorists on all the networks trying to boost their ratings by telling us what they think we want to hear, reporting only on the stories they think viewers want to watch, and employing over the top sensationalist figures because the American people love drama. Because we have news that's so biased in what they project to the viewer it further deepens the Democrat VS Republican schism that, in my opinion, completely weakens the American people since we get so caught up in us VS them that we can't take five minutes to listen to a word a single person says because they're not "one of us", and thus never make any damn progress.

As far as news goes, I read the BBC news, mixed with google searching if I want more info on a topic. I watch The Daily Show and The Colbert Report because they're entertaining. They don't have to be unbiased because they don't claim to be news shows. They're on freakin Comedy Central. Yet sadly, I find Jon Stewart often does a better job of calling BS on politicians and news stations then other so called "official journalists".

Sorry if this meandered a bit. Hope it was coherent... I've got a migraine and they tend to make me a mildly retarded ball of wtf...

I've been told that a few times, but I find it fine. If there is a bias to it, it is hardly noticible, and is a lot better then most other broadcasters I've watched. I have a more right wing view of politics, and I find the views BBC put forth having no real bias.

I'm not saying it's perfect, but instead very good in not keeping one.

FOX News fails because they've let things go too far, to the point where rational people just flat out don't believe it. If FOX news transmitted the 4 minute warning of impending nuclear armageddon, I'd spend about 1 or 2 of those minutes checking other news stations to make sure it wasn't just an anti immigration piece, where the mexicans are the 'warheads' being sent into america to 'cause a moral and values holocaust'.

One thing I considered tho, wouldn't it be just great if at the end of this year, Bill O' Reilly and Glenn Beck both appear on the Daily Show and admit they're performance artists, and they bluffed their way into a job on FOX, and it's all been a joke that got out of hand, they never thought acting like such reactionary right wing nutbags would ever be taken seriously, and they can't wait any longer to be found out. 'Hi Jon, yes, we're here to say, we tried, every week we got more and more extreme with our 'opinions' but people just kept agreeing, it's kinda funny, but we felt our souls shrivelling over time.'
