Realism sucks. I really missed being able to make cars instantly explode by shooting its fuel tank in GTA4, even though they still catch fire and explode if you simply keep shooting them long enough.

Obviously fun, because nobody would play a game which wasn't fun just for the realism, but they might play an unrealistic game just for fun. Seriously, here we have games which can give us practically anything we can imagine, so why limit ourselves to a reality we don't even need games to get? Realism? Listen, I've been there, done that, bought the **** T-shirt.

I like both realistic games and "arcade" games.

That's why I like Assassin's Creed (okay, as much as falling from a building and you survive with no bones broken is not realistic, the game IS - if you should hit an enemy 3-4 times, he will die, sometimes even with 1 hit) and I will probably like Prototype.

Lets be honest, A 100% realistic war game would suck.

Fun, obviously. I'd rather play a completely non-realistic game which is fun than a boooooooring hyperrealistic one.

Though if the game requires you to suspend your disbelief more than it is acceptable, then fun usually goes away.

most the time, people play video games to escape from realism, if a game tries to get realism down that game more often then not ends up not being fun, maybe its to hard to handle or something like, but that usually how it ends up

I find realism fun, too. GTA 4 is my favorite GTA.

But I don't mind if a game is unrealistic, I love Saints Row 2 and Team Fortress 2.
What? How long has GTA 4 has been realistic? Is it the fact that everything is now BROWN and nothing else?

Well I don't give a damn about realism unless the entire game is aiming for realism such as (SWAT 4 is a good FPS example0

I really do hate the steps game makers are doing for "realisim" such as EVERYTHING being brown (Check Real is Brown on Tv Tropes for more examples) and a much hated 2 gun limit. Really, whats wrong with lots of carrying many tools of war at once?

I haven't played a single game which considered itself "Realistic" which I actually found fun. Hell, most games that claim to be realistic are full of shit. When I first played COD: MW2 a few years back I had no idea that it was supposed to be a realistic shooter, considering it was a game where if your team was completely destroying the opposition their reaction to that obvious lead was to nuke everything.
