Futurama, it's just always been good silly fun to me. admittedly though, I never wayched the early Simpsons, so my opinion is skewed. But hilarious comedy in space? Harder to run out of material.

I never ever found simpsons funny. Not the old ones not the new ones. Futurama has systematically gotten funnier and funnier however.

Title says it all really.

Which of Matt Groening's two shows do you prefer, the long-running Simpsons, or the recently revived series of Futurama?

Please explain your reasons.
If you asked me that question a few years ago I would've said The Simpsons, but since Futurama came back on the air is being really good while The Simpsons has been slowly detoriating :(
So yeah Futurama :p

Between the two, i have to choose Futurama. But in all honesty, id rather watch King of the Hill over either one.

The comedy in Futurama is more.... upbeat? A little less perdictable i think.

I used to like The Simpsons more, but lately I've been shown the light of Futurama. Such great humor, such lovable characters (especially Zoidberg!). Now don't get me wrong, i like The Simpsons a lot, but i have to agree, the newer episodes go way too much into the category of "randomness". I mean, that Futurama episode with the dog, and the one with the clover... Jesus.
But that's just my opinion.

Futurama was always able to as easily get a laugh outta me(The Honking) as it was able to get a tear outta me(The Luck of the Fryish).

Futurama.

Good news everyone! I've invented a device that makes Futurama more popular than the Simpsons, I call it the "Farnsworth"...it also makes little children afraid of the dark, and for good reason! damn those little children with their courage and non-reliance on diapers.

I guess simpsons because it's the only one which I have seemed to watch on the trot for years before getting bored...however I am waiting for the other to hit dvd.

Classic The Simpsons is some of the best comedy ever written, up there with Arrested Development and Seinfeld. Futurama is pretty great too, but I prefer The Simpsons

Futurama, by virtue of not being The Simpsons.

It's been so long since the golden age of The Simpsons that the shit episodes vastly outnumber the good ones, and so it should be judged as a shit program.
I agree there are more shit episodes now (which is why I think they should all stop) but you make it sound like we should forget when it was great. That's how I'm judging it, when both shows were at their peak, episodes so good you can come back to them over and over.

Very hard question. Because I've always found Futurama to be stupid and unfunny. The Simpsons was funny a while ago, but now it's even worse than Futurama. Futurama is at least consistently bad, but the Simpsons actually made me laugh at some point, albeit that was a very long time ago.

The Simpsons from season 3 up until season 10, or liberally 12. They managed to make everything funny with normal, everyday subjects. Sure they stretched things, like Homer getting his head stuck in a drawbridge, but it didn't need to resolve to annoying crab aliens or amoral robots.

I still LIKE Futurama, especially since the Simpsons went down the shitter around 2002, but it doesn't compare the the Golden Days

Futurama is more my kinda humour, but if I had to measure them by comparing the hilarity over the years Simpsons is probably in the lead here.
