Ugh. Once- For a painfully short time- I owned possibly the best made Organisation XIII robe I'd ever seen. I bought it for somewhere in the region of $200 from a girl at a convention.
And then a friend of mine SET IT ON FIRE.
His excuse? "Well, it was Axel's one, wasn't it?"
did you ever get the $200 off them

I hate the gaming clothes that just Have the name of the gae on the T-shirt. I just want you guys to imagine for a sec an Assassin's Creed 2 White hoodie. It's got the hood that looks similar to the game, as well as a print on both arms of hidden blades. It's Rocking a simple, large Assassin's Symbol in the middle as well as maybe some more prints to make it look similar to what Ezio wears in-game. I would buy something like that because it's not advertising, while at the same time showing appreciation for the game. Anybody with me?!

Well, last year I got an AC2 hoodie for pre-ordering at JB HI-FI, and I didn't wear it out because I was a tad concerned at seeming an attention-seeking GURL GAMER or a crazed fan. I eventually wore it to uni the other day to see what would happen, and to my surprise got a couple of complements from strangers.

So I was wondering, do Escapists buy or wear game clothing? Any real reason why or why not? And what do other people think about it?
Compliments right? Not Ketchup or Mustard packets I think.
Oh lord, you're right. I was reading for my art theory unit and had complementary colours on the brain. Well played, sir.

No, and I wouldn't wear it - it makes me cringe when I see people with WoW T-shirts or whatever.
But in a way: what you said. T-shirts that blatantly advertise a video game puts me off, not because i'm embarrassed but because they're generally quite horrible, good example of that would be the ZP t-shirts you can buy because of the large Zero Punctuation logo on it (Example: http://www.splitreason.com/product/582)

A t-shirt like that puts me right off, the t-shirts I brought were mainly brought because they're pretty nondescript and unless you play the game your not really going to know where they're from.

A mate once got me a sweatband that said Resident Evil 4... That's about it. Although I do look at the clothes on VG Cats and wish I had them. I'm not sure what I think about seeing other people wearing it. Each to their own I suppose.

I do have a T-shirt that has an ESRB rating in the front and WoW item stats on the back.
Epic T-shirt of ganking, how I love you so. Some mates got it for my birthday back when I was actively playing WoW.

I've got a few pieces of game-related clothing. I have a shirt with the Hyrule Crest on it, a hoodie with the Contra code, and a hoodie with a giant Space Invader on the front with some small ones on the back. Also I have that 'Pants on head retarded' shirt, when I wear it out I do tend to get some strange looks from people, and I have the yellow bag from Mirror's Edge.

I can't believe I am admitting this, but I have gaming tatoos. I have the sillohette of a big sister and the aperture science logo. Although to be fair the second one was a bet...but thats another story for another time.

I really don't get this first one:
Yes, but I don't want to wear it

What, is someone's mom making them wearing gaming shirts?
"Oh hunny you look so handsome in your Metal Gear Solid shirt!"
"Mom I just want to wear a blank nongaming shirt today!"
"You will not embarrass me in front of all your friends at school again! Now get on that bus and pretend you picked that out yourself!"

I have the VG Cats Rat Flail shirt. I only wear it when I'm actually playing DnD or when I'm just staying at home, though.

I've got a World in Conflict t-shirt and a Half-Life 2 t-shirt and I wear them both. The World in Conflict one especially, as it's very good quality.

I've some Magic: The Gathering shirts (and I wear 'em) but not much else. If I happen to come across game-related clothes that look cool in my opinion I will probably buy and wear 'em.
I don't really care that much what other people think about my clothing (heck, I even wear sweatpants during winter as long as it is warmer than -10°C).

Hah. *Snort*
I included it for symmetry, since a lot of stores offer game shirts as an incentive to pre-order. It's how I got mine, anyhow.

No, although if I found something I liked enough I'd wear it. The chances are I wouldn't though, I'd prefer one from a game but which doesn't advertise it (having the games title in huge letter for example).

I see nothing to be ashamed about, as long as you really want them who cares what others think?

If I didn't already have a tattoo on my right forearm I'd probably get the chains from Bioshock done.
