mirrors edge movie could be quite good and an infamous movie would be a good superhero film
Have it in 3D and people would get motion sickness in their seats. I like it.

Guys Guys...listen. PORTAL! No really I think it would make an excellent movie. I can't really explain it because I'm not really an expert on movies like Moviebob but ill try. Well, the humor would be great coming from Glados. At the end (*SPOILER ALERT*) of Portal when Glados starts to be hostile towards Chell it would be exciting. The beginning when Chell wakes up and explores the use of the Portal Gun would be interesting. I would list more but I'm lazy.

Dungeon Keeper.. The story of a young upcomming overlord fighting against the capitalism of the modern-day adventurers and making a communist-demon soceity where ALL DEMONS are equal. Except for workers who are slaves and the Overlord who's supreme ruler.

Sadly, the way to 'almost' total equality is filled with obstacles. Fellow Overlords try and hinder your plans by TEAMING UP! With the evil surface dwellers. Brought together by the Dwarven King Goldbeard IV. "Ruler of the richest on gold parts of the underground Kingdom of Dwarves"

On the way the Overlord captures a human who he keeps in a prison as his slavegirl but she eventually manages to bring something good up inside of him and the fight suddenly goes, not towards ruling the underworld as a supreme overlord. But conquering the above aswell! "Because bringing equality to the underworld just aint good enough"

The movie will be a trilogy. Taking over the demonworld. Defeating the dwarves. Taking over the Surfaceworld. The third however will never come out since the man acting as Dungeon Lord suddenly gets a heart attack while they are filming and a new actor was never found.

Ambition, drama. Love. Friendship. Brotherhood - Dungeon Keeper!

Edit: We could add this scene where the Dungeon Lord looses his best friend "Pit Lord" like halfway through. In an epic battlescene with the fat blob holding off hundreds of paladins so the Dungeon Lord and his Minions can escape from the trap alive.

Lot of votes for Fallout.

I'd point out that The Book of Eli is basically a Fallout movie without Fallout humour, but you guys probably know about it, and just don't agree with me on that.

OT: Hitman. I know there's already a film, I haven't seen it, I'm not going to, I know all there is to know about it from the trailer, it's not what Hitman should be. I want a film that is.

Failing that - hell, actually give me this as well - I want a Splinter Cell movie. I don't care if spy movies have been done before, I want my Sam Fisher, and I want him on the big screen, AND I WANT IT NOW.

...Cruis'n USA. That'd be one epic mo-*dies laughing*

*wipes tears from eyes* oh man...sorry. I had to, but I just couldn't finish it.

I think a movie based on Sins of a Solar Empire would be kind of neat. It never seemed to be really fleshed out, so there's plenty to work with.

I think that the conversion from an interactive media to a non-interactive one cannot possible retain the essence or identity of the original.

Thus, it's quite impossible to do a Film that both satifies the gaming fans AND cater to the film audience with no gaming background.

Also, while watching game-movies like PoP, I personally always get the feeling that I'd actually just rather played the game than watched the movie.

Duke Nukem. Why? Because the concept is so simple, that as long as they don't add sappy Hollywood drama, it should be perfect material to simply translate into a movie. I'm not a huge Duke Nukem fan, but i know that the series rides on the Duke's extreme machismo personality.

Solely to go against the Escapist userbase:

NOT Mass Effect
NOT Dead Space
actually I agree with Mass effect, that is the shepard story, because once you make shepard a steryotypical gruff action hero that will piss me off, plus the game is so cinematic itself it seems a waste of time

one of the prequel novels however could work for both fans and non-fans

Dead space could work but as much as I love deadspace once you translate it to film it seems "been there done that" because it kind of is....but to be honest if it was good Id go see it anyway

you know I have wondered if a film version of portal could work, you know with just one human charachter, definatly as a short film but streching it out to somthing feature length..well its an interesting Idea

I havnt seen 'Moon" but its got a similar thing of a guy alone with a crazy AI, so who knows, Im not sure you could pull it off with chell being silent, she could talk and it could be fun to have her actually talking/interacting with GLaDOS (Like in Aliens, the climactic fight scene I can imagine her screaming "Where's my cake?,*****!!"

so yeah in the right hands it could make a very interesting film

That's what I was gonna say. Duke is so light on story and heavy on nonsense, it could actually work. I mean, movies like Machete were openly embraced for their silly, over-the-top machismo, so why wouldn't the Duke? Let Rodriguez and Tarantino do it, give 'em a massive budget, and watch the magic happen.

But I'd watch The Darkness. Directed by...Someone good.
Technically, that would qualify as a comic book adaptation, not a video game movie.

opening scene-ship gets blasted during a space pirate raid. people fleeing all over. zoom in on little blonde girl crying as she sees both her parents die trying to protect her and get her to an escape pod, she makes it but her pod is hit by a piece of shrapnel from the destroyed vessel and is knocked off course to crashes on a nearby planet. after crawling from the crashed pod, she bursts into tears, nursing an injury, seemingly alone. then strange, slender, tall creatures (chozo) approach her; she attempts to crawl away but gives up and cowers before them until they genitally reach down and hold out a friendly hand. she reaches and grasps the hand as the title flashes.
METROID
FUCK YEAH!
I remember reading ages ago in a Nintendo magazine that someone did actually buy the rights to make a Metroid movie, but they appeared to never have used them.

Streets of Rage. Yes, i´m serious. Stop laughing.

Make it an unapologetic 80´s style action movie where crime rules the streets and only 3 cops are brave enough to stand up to it. If the action is shot decently and if the dialogue is slightly cheesy (and quotable),you´ll have a cult classic hit on no time. Just balance the action and comedy in a right way. Oh...and get Megadriver to play a couple of songs. Their Streets of Rage covers are awesome. Get Michael Jai White to play Adam, Dolph Lundgren to play Axel (or maybe someone younger, lol) and some hot chick to play Blaze and we´re good to go!

Who wouldnt watch this movie?
