On the PC, Psychonauts, Baldurs Gate 2, Warcraft 2, Stronghold Crusader, and Disciples 2. Some of them I do intend to finish but others I have given up on.

On my long broken xbox only two stand out, Doom 3 and kingdon Under Fire, and I would have beaten them if my xbox didn't break.

I never beat Metal Arms: Glitch In The System. I got to the end and realized I needed like 20 more chips to buy the boss's death, and there was no way to get back to previous levels.

Bully - I forgot to save and it crashed a couple of hours into it. It never really grabbed me anyway so I've never had the drive to finish it.

There are quite afew games where I have to be in the mood to complete them. Hitman being one of them because I don't like running and gunning so I need about 1-2 hours to complete one level.

Prey - Computer had to be reformatted, lost save and despite being able to level skip I've just never gotten around to it.
DooM 3 Resurrection of Evil - Ditto.

Dead Rising - It was my brother's 360 and now I've gone to uni. I bought a memory card and transferred my saves because my housemate has a 360 but I can really only play when he's there.
Condemned 2 - Ditto.
Dead Space - Ditto.

Fallout 3: Perhaps I play it when the levelcap is raised.
There are mods that raise the level cap up to 30 or 40. And they have been available for some time.

I have yet to finish Bioshock, X-Men 2, Psychonauts, Beyond Good and Evil (there was a bug, my saved games got deleted and I didn't feel like finishing it)...

And a lot of games in similar threads I posted long time ago.

Conker's Bad Fur Day (Live and Reloaded really) - I've got to the part where you have to push a big barrel of TNT through a minefield where the mines don't show up until you go very near to them, and I thought: "Bother this nonsense". I'm still sort of trying but I've almost lost interest.

A Link To The Past - Already a hard game but the final dungeon just takes the piss, again: "Bother this nonsense".

Earthworm Jim - I just didn't like it, sorry.

Half-Life 2 - I tried to like it, I really did...

I have a lot more but those are the ones that disappointed me the most.

-Was really cheap. Thought I could play it on Wii, turns out you need GC controller and memory card. Now I got them, but just don't bother to play.
Sorry to pick you up on this, but I couldn't quite believe what I saw when I read that. You bought a Gamecube game, made for a now obsolete console, and magically expected it to register and understand controls that weren't even in development when the game was released? Please tell me you're better then that.

As to the original question, I have a lot of games that I've never finished. Lots and lots. One of my 'This year, I'm going to's (I don't call them resolutions, 'cause if I do, I'll end up breaking them and that makes me a sad panda) was to go back and actually finish them. Not doing that well so far, but it's early days.

Still cracking on with the Jak series though. I'm trying to unlock the Mega Scrap Book. Thank the Lord for God Mode, that's all I'll say.

Dead. Rising.

My experiance with that game didn't start well with much of the text being almost impossible to read on my non HD TV and it ended when I lost an hour of gameplay for the 5th time because I didn't want to spend 15 mins running back to a safe area to save.

It was a fun game. If saving my progess had been a less irritating process I would have kept playing but that design choice (and to a lesser extent the time limit, oh how I loathe time limits) ruined it for me.

Also GTA 4 because every time I try to go back to it I just get frustrated or bored. I do plan to try to finsih that one though.

I own two games which I haven't finished to this day and I will never finish them. Both of them have the same problem: They aren't fun for me.

Those games are GTA IV and Uncharted: Drake's Fortune.

Other than that I have finished every game I own (more than 310).

i always go about two thirds to three quarters of the way through a game, start playing something else for a while, then go back and finish the first. this gets worse around christmas and stuff when i get several games at the same time and want to play them all. i got an xbox 360 with CoD4, assassins creed, the orange box, and bioshock for christmas. i have only beaten portal so far, and thats cuz its so short (but absolutely epic). i havent even started half life two because i want to beat half life one first, and i dont even own a copy of that because im pretty much exclusively a console gamer. back on topic, i usually try to finish the games i play at some point, unless they are a rental i dont feel like rerenting, or they are just that bad. besides the stuff that i listed, i cant think of anything else i have that i havent finished but im sure i have some. oh and with games that have the main ending and good ending thing, like mario games, i consider it beat if i only get any ending. 100% completion is rarely worth it.

GTA4: the whole friends system got on my nerves after a while because they would always call in the middle of a mission orwhen i was picking up another friend. And when i chose not to hang out with them it felt bad the game was punishing me for not driving across town to pick up Roman or LJ and taking them to the titty bar on the other island.

God of War: Chains of Olympas and Patapon beauce my PSP stopped working.

I have very few unfinished games.

-Age Of Empires II- I know, I know. It's good, but I can't work up the enthusiasm to go through every mission.

-Oblivion- I didn't like it.

-Caesar III- I lost the will to play after some time.

I almost always finish EVERYTHING in a game. For example, I've finished everything in Arcanum. I've found every Schematic at least once, I've done Evil/Neutral/Good/Mix characters, I've found secrets, I've been on Rampages, I've finished every single quest. And thus, I am happy.

I usually finish every game I buy, but I'm ashamed to tell you that I've never beat Banjo & Kazooie for the N64. I've got to get back to that one when I've got some free time on my hands.

I finish most of the games I buy, but there are a few exceptions.

I didn't finish Dead Rising because I grew to hate the controls and didn't like grinding at the lower levels just so that I had a hope of completing the damned timed missions. And the boss fights were just annoying, as was Otis and his damned phone. I loved a lot of that game, but the busted parts of it killed the game for me.

I didn't finish Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer because I was rapidly losing consciousness. (Not a purchase of mine, the store literally gave it away I think just to get rid of it.)

I haven't "finished" most of my Arcade titles yet, simply because I haven't decided to grind through them in one sitting long enough to reach the end. The XBLA ports of A-list titles, though, I have mostly finished. (Except Duke Nukem 3D; got to the last boss fight and then got some other shiny title and plain forgot to get back to it.)

There are a couple of others I didn't finish because they were borrowed and I just ran out of time... but I won't count them in the total.

BLASPHEMER!

Just kidding. Actually, that's the only game I have that I haven't beaten (EDIT: Forgot about Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask). I've only made it not far past the part where you first get the boat. I just didn't like how I'd frequently get stuck, and how the Combine didn't flinch when getting shot.

I tend to beat all of my games, even if I don't like them that much, but seeing as how I'm occupied with several games at the moment (DMC 3 and 4, Rock Band 2, a few virtual console games, and soon, Street Fighter 4), I probably won't be going back to Half-Life 2 anytime soon.

I'm with you on that one, I like the game, but the controls are just too broken. I haven't progressed very much in the game at all, I like it, but all I can do in it is just fuck around, die and then restart slightly stronger and wearing a silly outfit.
The controls make it too awkward to get anywhere in it, they make the boss fights too difficult.

Most of the other times I don't finish a game is because I play them to death for and I stop playing so as not to finish them too soon after buying them. Then the next game comes around and I repeat the cycle, rarely going back to the games I put aside.

This was different when Game still had their '10 day no fuss returns' policy, because then, if you could complete a game in 10 days or less, you would do and get your money back or another game.

Now because of crap return on games, I try to increase the longevity of a game by not playing it...

There's only two games in recent memory that I didn't finish.

Advance Wars: Days of Ruin - By the time I had gotten to the 25th chapter, I had completely given up on the storyline, and was quite tired of the gameplay.

Grand Theft Auto Vice City - I'm not sure what exactly happened, but I ran out of missions before the story was over. I had NO contacts, and I looked everywhere in the city to find one. I know I didn't finish the story because I know the name of one of the missions that I haven't played yet. If someone could tell me what's going on, I'd gladly appreciate it.

Haha. It wouldn't be so bad if it didn't have the health pack system. I've gotten stuck countless times because I lose too much health fighting and there's never a health pack in sight. The puzzles are a ***** too. As are the Striders.

I forgot about Majora's Mask too, it kept crashing. I'd really like to finish it sometime...
Oh and Mother 3, I lost my save file when I changed computers. Again a good game that I'd like to finish.

It's rare that I actually finish a game. I have to play through it quickly or I'll lose interest halfway through. I've never finished a Final Fantasy game, even though I've gotten to the final boss in VI, VII, VIII, and IX. I just stop playing for some reason and then when I go back to play it again I forgot what I was doing when I last saved so I have no idea where to go next. Other times I'll just get to a part that is really difficult which I don't feel like doing. I've gotten better about playing through to the end recently, though.

*Sigh* There are so many games I have sitting in my cupboard I havent finshed. It makes me sad looking at them.
