Just want to know who you all think is the best and why.

Mario?
Mario is nothing compared to the legend that is, CRASH BANDICOOT.

Well, his first 3 games were amazing.
Then they just sucked, like Spyro's.
Though Crash Team racing was even better than Mario Kart IMO.

Sonic, obviously. Because I grew up a Sega kid and loved the games.

I grew up with Sonic. Sonic was my first game. I am going to have to go with Sonic.

Mario is THE mascot of gaming.

Love him or hate him, he basically brought console gaming to the world.

If solid snake is on there, you have to put master chief on too; he is far more iconic than solid snake and link.

You left out quite a few figureheads. I honestly think Master Chief has become the biggest symbol, but he's not my favorite.

We need an "Other" option. Though of this list I'd choose Mario. The guy straight up represents gaming in no way since Pac-Man or the Pong paddle.

I'd voted for Freeman, if he were in the poll. Yes, I'm a Freemanfan. Anyways, i selected Mario, isnce well, its-a him, Mario! That plumber IS gaming.

Crash. Because he started my love of gaming. Yes, it's completely personal and sentimental, but whatever. Oh, and his first racing game, Crash Team Racing, is worlds better than Mario Kart has ever been.

I first played Sonic when I was 3, so I sorta have a special bond with him, that sarcastic yet heroic supersonic Hedgehog,

I mean, everyone has that video game character they stay loyal to no matter what, for me, it's Sonic!

Sonic was my first game. My very first one, that I owned personally. My parents had a nice library at the time, but, until Sonic, I had none.

It was also my first comic book.
