I'm still going strong with my trusty ol' MX518. I'll be sad when I finally have to replace it.

Logitech G700 here. I hated my last mouse, from Razer so upgraded and am reasonably happy with it, though the battery life is still a little poor. I programmed the surplus buttons (ie. 6-12) which don't map to mouse buttons as NUMPAD keys so I have quick access to 10-12 functions in most games. I'm happy with it so far though haven't really made full use of it. Will stick to logitech from now, my experience with Razer was not a good one.

I got a Logitech G9, and I suppose you could say it's programmed. I've got various sensitivity settings to change on the fly, and in a few games, I have the buttons set to do specific things.

Namely, I have a rapid-fire LMB button that lets me do things super fast. I've even used it to level my skills in Morrowind and Oblivion by holding the button down and just walking away to do things (cheating without cheating).

The best thing I've done with it is bind "3" to one of the buttons so when I'm playing TF2, I don't need to take my finger off of "W" to reach for my melee weapon if I'm chasing a guy down. Reaching with any other button is too slow and awkward in the heat of battle.

Same here. It's been a trusty companion of mine.

I came here expecting a thread about mouse based gaming science experiments.

I was sadly mistaken.

there is just no comparing any of the rest with Logitech's products.
I'd put a lot of Saitek gear equal to Logitech... unfortunately for me, Saitek is a pain in the arse to find where I live.
Hence the Saitek X52 joystick I use (and put a picture of). Saitek can't compete on the mice/keyboard/headset side, though.
I like the Cyborg R.A.T series mice.

I have a Cyborg RAT3 mouse. I bought it because it's one of the few mice I've ever used that doesn't make my freakishly small hands cramp on extended use.

All my peripherals besides my headphones and joystick (which is also a Saitek X52, but not the pro one like yours) are Logitech. They make good stuff for a good price.

My mouse is a Logitech G300.

I have it programmed, but not as much for games. The G8 button I have set to change modes between "Gaming" (which is a high DPI and a blue light), "Standard" (which has an average DPI and the buttons are mapped for forwards/backwards in a browser, and copy/cut/paste, and has a white light), and "No Light" (same as standard, but the light is off if I want to leave my PC on at night).

I program my macros and keybindings onto my Logitech G13 gameboard for gaming. The cool thing is that both the mouse and gameboard are managed by the same software.

G400 is amazing. I like the minimalist design compared to other gaming mouses. And, its relatively cheap.

Do you have a gaming mouse on your PC? If so, have you programmed it at all?

I've got a Coolermaster Sentinal. So far, I make pretty colors with it, but that's about it.

I'm looking forward to programming the buttons for some of my favorite games (You would not believe the button combos necessary in Alice, Madness Returns, that could be done away with one good macro. But it all seems so blooody exhausting!

Does anyone really do this? Is it as daunting as I fear?

I recently tried to switch to a Diablo 3 mouse because the clickers on the Ikari sometimes doubleclick when attempting single clicks. I had to stop using it from wrist + hand pain after a day. I play a LOT, and the ergonomics of ambidextrous mice just aren't good enough. Luckily I was able to return it cos it kept fucking up my USB interface somehow.

TL;DR - I love this mouse because its ergonomics relieve a lot of the stress and strain on my hand.
I'm thinking a lot of these have similarities:

I got like £200 worth of Razer peripherals for my Birthday, I use the Razer Lycosa Keyboard, and The Razer Imperator Mouse. The Mouse has Two Extra buttons on the side, and a couple on the top, which I leave set for adjusting sensitivity (I generally play on quite a low sensitivy, 1700 DPI, it goes all the way up to 6400) The keyboard doesn't have extra buttons, but it can also have macros, I haven't really used them all that much though, I bound the extra mouse buttons to a couple of skills in Diablo 3, but that's about it.

SteelSeries Cataclysm Mouse.
Could not live without its half million buttons.
I actually don't even use my Keyboard at all for Diablo 3, I have every single command bound to the mouse.
I made FF14 half playable with macros, binding all of their psychotic commands to more easily accessible mouse buttons for easy cancel, confirm, menu, etc.

I'm not sure if it really counts as programming though, the configuration program makes it stupid simple keybinding.
