I would like to hear your stances and your points supporting your stances.

I am personally for It's legalization for the following reasons:

I believe Church and State should be sepparated.

The simple truth is- homosexuality is born not chosen. Just as I am naturally attracted to women, some men are naturally attracted to other men. I wouldn't want people to tell me I couldn't be with women, so I don't want to do the same to gays.

I believe that in a free country the majority should not be able to vote down the rights of a minority. That's how the oppression of racial minorities and women happened.

So, those are some of my arguments. Tell me yours. However, always remember

NO FLAMING

That's not how to resolve differences- it's how to irritate them.

I am certain this thread has probably been done before but I couldn't find it ANYWHERE using the search engine. So here we go.

Whoever judges anybody based on their sexuality is infinitely worse than the person they're judging.

If someone wants to marry the same sex, let them. It's their decision only.

I've actually given speeches on why it should be legal. Those speeches were in high school, granted, but still, my position is clear and adamant.

I live in California.

Irony is a *****. A stupid *****.

If it was legal federally, far too many right-wing states would have a fit. I posted "Left up to the States", because they seem to be doing an okay job of setting age of consent and other intercourse legalities.

That's true. However, when we wanted to end slavery the conservative (the Democrats were the more conservative party at the time) had a "fit". By that I mean they had a war. I still believe it was good to abolish slavery.

Gay marriage is completely normal. And it should be legal all over the world, not just in the US of A. If two people love each other, why should they be stopped by some petty insignificant detail - like being of one gender?

[sarcasm]Yes,i'm idealist and liberal,kill me for that.[/sarcasm]

Love is love.

Who is going to say you can't have the same rights as someone because you are different than them?

Idealism isn't a bad thing. It's a tool.

I just hope someone gives you your two hours television time (I looked at your profile)

I think marriage and sexual preferences are a personal choice and the government of a free country shouldn't be able to meddle in somthing that is our civil rights. NO ONE has the right to tell somone who they should and shouldn't be attracted too, especially not an establishment that should be worried about much bigger things.

Meh, they want it for the tax-breaks. But whatever, who am I to say who should "get married" anyways. Its just a piece of paper.

Only thing I feel like saying to be honest is "The Fall of Rome."

I would assume you're used to it, though as one living in the middle of California's main conservative bastion, I sympathize.

Fucking Prop 8...WE WERE SO CLOSE, DAMMIT!

It really is refreshing to have so many people like you posting your opinions- and finding you AGREE.

Living where I do most of the people see me as some kind of weirdo for supporting gay rights.

I don't believe in the marriage of two humans, irregardless of gender, should be a legal institution as it allows the state to determine legal marriage rights, and who gets to do it. I'm pro gay-marriage, and believe they should be allowed to do it freely.

I was so angry when I heard that Prop 8 had taken gay marriage back away. And in such a usually "blue" state. It was a real loss.
