Poll: Gears of War chainsaw noobs

Are you kidding? That is one of the best parts of the entire game!

I am usually switching between shotgun for short range kill, grenades for long range and lancer for melee combat if they do get close. Practise makes perfect so learn to get control.

Everyone has the option to use a chainsaw so you can't really complain. They should make it easier to stop people from chainsawing because it's annoying when you see them coming from a mile off and shoot the crap out of them but their chainsaw keeps revving. They definitely shouldn't remove it though because, let's face it, it's hella fun.

If you can't beat a guy using a chainsaw then you need to rethink your tactics for fighting them, tighten your reactions with your shotgun, or learn to run away, you don't need to make pots all over the interwebs calling them noobs

I hate noobs that just use the chainsaw on Gears!
Me and a friend were discussing, if they should remove the chainsaw from the lancer or give the choice to remove the chainsaw in online matches.
I'd prefer if it would be removed all together, cos i hate chainsaw noobs who just lancer and chainsaw all the time.

Before I begin to discuss this: learn to spell "cause" or "cuz" it's not cos. I didn't know we were talking about triangles here.

Anyways, back on topic. Gears and Gears 2 is all about the shotgun and chainsaw. The lancer is useless without the chainsaw. All you really need to do is go from cover to cover advancing and you're pretty much good to go, seeing as how the lancer does enough to damage to make a mosquito taunt it.

Gears/Gears 2 is garbage in my opinion, thanks to the incredibly unbalanced weapon system. So I'll just stop criticizing this game before some Gears/Gears2 fanboys come and try to flame me.

pretty much that. if you are using guns and get killed by people using a chainsaw then maybe you need to change your strategy.

Especially considering that people revving up the chainsaw can't run or dive.
If you get killed by a chainsaw, one can assume it was either a sneak attack or you just suck.

It was put in the game for a reason. God do I hate people who call cheap all the time. What are the people who are being "cheap" supposed to do, go easy on you? I'm going to use the best option I have to win, regardless of it being cheap. Of course I make exceptions sometimes, though, such as in Soul Calibur 4, where I will use a variety of characters, rather than just Kilik or other such "cheap" characters (The game is more fun for me that way, anyways).

Am I reading this right? You're suggesting taking the chainsaw out of Gears of war? That is the whole reason many people even played the game!

Let's run thought some possible scenarios.

#1 (Gears without chainsaws)
Person A: So I hear there's this game called Gears of War Coming Out. You play some badass who kills aliens.
Person B: Meh, played it.

#2 (Gears with chansaws)
Person A: There's this new game called Gears of War where you get a chainsaw on the front of your gun!
Person B: Awesome!

There is nothing wrong with the chainsaw. If you get caught by it, too bad, be more alert/maybe the other person was just better and therefore could sneak up on you. Or maybe you just suck at staying away from people with the chainsaw.

Exactly.
It's your own fault if you die by the lancer in that way. You should be ready and able to run or roll when needed. There should be no rules as to how weapons are used. I mean...they're trying to win too.

I have never fired a single bullet in GoW2 if I can't chainsaw you then fuck it, you win. But guess what? It's not noobish to do chainsawing, its usually noobish to GET chainsawed.
