I wish people would quit whining about the MW2 class system.

First it was double shotgun dude, then it was the knifer guy, now its the noob tubers.

They are all legitimate tactics, there is no exploit there. You do not have to play this game if you do not enjoy it.
There truly are classes in MW2 that are completely Overpowered, though. The class I was talking about in the beginning of the thread is one of the cheapest classes I've ever seen, that being said, I only use it to vent my frustration of the game without actually quitting the game.

My brain is telling me not to post the specifics of the class, but I will anyways. Here goes:

*Primary Weapon: Scar-H /w Noob Tube

*Secondary Weapon: Thumper

*Equipment: Claymore

*Special Grenades: 2x Stun grenades

*Perk 1: Scavenger Pro

*Perk 2: Danger Close Pro

*Perk 3: Commando Pro (I sometimes use Last Stand Pro, however)

*Death Streak: Martyrdom (to complete the explosive flavor of this class.)

With this class, I never ran out of tubes to aggravate people with and went 48 and 5 on Sub Base last night. I didn't fire a single bullet. Tell me that's not cheap.

I had quite a laugh, though. People thought I was insane while I was laughing into the mic.

It bothered my how you alluded to the term noob-tube, but didn't once use it youself. ¬_¬

But err yeah it's a viable tactic, ofcourse it is.

Nobody said it wasn't viable, people are complaining it's too powerful, which it is.

I don't understand the issue with this, surely just use whatever you want. It's just a game.
Mario is also "just a game" but if the first enemies you saw needed some sort of super 360* double-jump-strafe-dance just to get past them, it wouldn't be that much of a game anymore, would it.

Stop using that argument. That, and "it's a legitimate tactic". The fact that it can be used doesn't mean the developers intended that your experience encompass huge amounts of it, as odd as that sounds. Double shotguns were patched and nerfed. Running with a care package marker was also nerfed. In a game about shooting people, blowing people up should be an alternative, not the definite winning tactic.

And if everyone just did everything they could to stay alive, noob tubes would be the least of your problems. It's a game, meant to be enjoyed, not cheesed through.
See, I get the annoyance of it being used all the time, and I understand that some people get frustrated.
But regardless, it is still just a game. When I play with my friends, we're just having a laugh, no one cares who uses what. I think sometimes people go a bit OTT. What if you aren't as good at the game, or you're just starting out, and that's the only way you can level up to begin with? Is it still a bad thing then? Should you not be allowed to play because, shock horror, you maybe aren't as good as the people who have played for 100+ hours?

That, surely, is the developers fault for not getting the balance right. The onus, therefore, is on IW to fix this, not on the players to quit using what is, whether we like it or not, a prefectly legitimate tactic. If they (tubers) were exploiting a glitch or somesuch then I would see your point. The fact is though, that the Perks are not a glitch or a hack no matter how badly IW thought them out (or not).

I don't much get a kick out of being blown to shit by a grenade launcher - but then I don't suppose anybody that I frag, with whatever weapon, is jumping for joy either. It's only a game, and if the 'noob-tube' thing bothers people that much, well I'm pretty sure that the 100,000+ players that are apparently connected to PSN at any given time (I guess XBL and PC numbers would be around the same?) are not likely to miss them if they move on to another FPS.

The only real problem I have with noobtubes is when ppl use them as a primary weapon. It's just wrong. And it has no use in most games either, except in Bad Company, where you use it to make additional doors in houses...

Put a minimum distance on it and remove the "instakill" effect it has when fired directly on an enemy in close combat. Oh, and make it hard to aim. I don't like tubesniping.

And for god's sake game developers, the launcher is put under the barrel on an assault rifle for a reason; SO YOU CAN SHOOT IT REALLY FAST!!! Without "changing weapon". Seriously, just watch the goddamn pictures of it...

I've said this before, and here we go again - it's in the game, so who are we to complain? Tubes, even danger close tubes, can be dodged, and the tube takes its time to reload, way more time than necessary to shoot the tuber. Same goes with one-man-army - 10 seconds or so, in which he can't do a thing...

It almost pisses me off as much as cock buckets that learn the map to the tiniest detail and then turn the maps off rendering it improbable for people who are playing for the frist time. THAT is the ultimate dick move.

I honestly have no idea what Noob Tubing is. Please elaborate.
N00b tubing is where you equip a grenade launcher to any rifle and use it to one-hit kill people.

That video is batshit crazy. I usually n00b tube two or three kills, then take another kill or two with small arms before dying.

Anyway, I agree with the majority of the posters here that it's a viable tactic because unless you're like that dude in the video, you're probably not that good if you're using it. And besides, after three rounds you're out and as good as dead.
Ah so its a nickname for the M203 attachment? Thats fair enough I guess. I guess any type of RPG wouldn't count as you would have to equip them or something? Or the reloading times too long?

Yeah it really annoys me when people use weapons in the game, I wish they'd learn how to play properly by replicating my play style exactly but being worse than me.

What pisses people off about it is that:

A.) It's a one-hit kill with a large splash radius.

B.) It becomes deadlier and more efficient when coupled with certain perks.

C.) Many people use it as their primary weapon, not as their Backup to their secondary, like it's meant to be.

By all means make your own play style, but don't spam people with nades'.. That was very hypocritical of me..

Tubes, RPG's, Martyrdom, and Last Stand generally hurt my feelings. Which is why I only play COD4 on Hardcore servers that ban them. If you're in a public server that allows them, you've got no right to complain. This is also why, incedently, I've never ventured into MW2 territory. No player control over servers.

It's one of a handful of things in MW2 that ruins the entire experience for me. The others being Shotguns, Commando, and campers.

I have posted that video at least three times on this site, and I will keep doing it until people realise why people complain it so much.
Dayum. I knew you could be cheap in CoD.. But just.. Dayum. On that same note, it seems like something I'd do just to piss people off. God, I love the hate mail; if you can't spell "**** faced cock sucker" correctly, then how do you expect to offend me?
Haha yeah, the abuse people throw at you online is ridiculous. Someone told me that he hopes I get cancer the other day because I was running around with the Tac Knife. I wasn't even using Commando, or even Lightweight.

I got called a **** repeatedly in my first game of Counterstrike: Source, so that was fun.

Sure, you find people using noob tubes all the time, but none of them ever get chopper gunners off just because of grenades.

I dunno, maybe i've been lucky, but i did play a lot of MW2 and haven't seen a noob tuber survive to get off a 7+ killstreak yet.
Yeah, thankfully they were terrible and none of them got many kills, it just annoyed me.

I'm not an MW2 player, or even an FPS player in general, but as I understand it, Noob Tubing is fair game. If it really had the potential to completely break the game, it wouldn't be in the game to begin with. From the sound of it, it's the FPS equivalent of complaining that Sagat's Tiger Knee and Uppercut in Street Fighter IV are broken (they aren't), or that Sonic in Super Smash Bros. Brawl is cheap (he isn't).

In short; If it's still in the game, it should be evident that it's intentional, and therefore isn't going anywhere. Learn to fight around it and move on.
