I get tired of every genre once in a while. I kinda flip from one genre to another about once a month.

Music. Just a trend, and it's passed.

Also, I'm not really a sports person, so I can't really get tired of it.

Quick and simple: JRPGs. Hate them. With the possible exception of the Star Ocean series, but that could have comfortably died out after 3.

Really, I'm getting tired of the Final Fantasy series that seems to think that it's still doing well.

I am tired of music, sports, Some RPGS, Some FPS' and a few simulators.

It usually depends on the game and what game mechanics are used. I'm getting a little sick of Middle Eastern FPS'. It'd be nice to play FPS' based in places such as London or Canada or somewhere new. With most FPS' you're in a desert, jungle, a city in poverty or a destroyed city. Somewhere 'normal' would be nice.

With Sims, they're taken too far at times. There's a bus sim, crane sim and even a forklift sim. Hmm.. Something like a Robbery Sim would be nice xD

Sorry to be the grammar nazi here, but please learn [http://hubpages.com/hub/grammar] the difference between "your" and "you're" please.
It's very frustrating to see it used wrongly so often on the internet. :)

Back on topic:
First/Third Person Shooters's and their influences on RPG's (so many 'action' RPG's of late)
I'm kind of disappointed by the way Mass Effect 2 seems to be going of late. It already was a blend of RPG and real-time shooter, but the sequel seems to be running headlong into real-time-only shooter territory :(

How can you be tired of a genre? Just because I don't like a certain genre doesn't mean nobody else will, besides, I don't play games of a genre I don't like. Seems a bit silly.

I think that all of the genres still have potential to make truly wonderful games.

Ugh. First let me clear this up. Shoot em ups are not the same as FPS. shmups are games like Gradius, Ikaruga, and SSHD.

My vote would go for FPS if it was an option. I thought they were already over-saturating last generation, now it's just ridiculous.

Why no "First Person Shooter" option?
I'm tired of them. Since true 3D tech it seems people have forgotten how to make innovative or original games, or are simply scared to.

Let's have some fresh game concepts, new perspectives, we know the current tech can generate realistic and expansive 3D environments, let's see what else it can do.

Personally, I think the shoot-'em-up. I'm not saying it can't be done well, I'm saying it usually isn't. If they were better executed I'd probably have fun with them.

I fully agree. The number of generic FPS games coming out on all systems and PC is quite amazing. Sports games are also a giant cashcow. Madden 10 has almost no improvement over 9 and actually requires you to spend a lot of money on DLC.

Music. I never liked any of those games and now they are just eating up too many resources that could be better spent on more interesting things.

As for a genre I have actually enjoyed before and am burnt out on, I would say the puzzle heavy action titles. Most of the puzzles just feel so forced and I just find it easier to take the game out and put in a different, better title then deal with the puzzle fluff.

I'm kind of tired of horror but that's probably because I don't find them as much fun. I wouldn't rule out a game just because of it's genre but horror games tend to feel very frustrating by nature. I couldn't even get into RE4 until it got on the wii.

Sports! Sports, sports, sports. Do we really need a new update every year to just add several new people? Seriously, I haven't been interested in a sports game since the Mutant League games back on the Genesis.

And I can't entirely argue with the overabundance of music games like Guitar Hero and Rock Band which are pretty much "remove old songs, add new songs."

Shoot em' ups and 1st/3rd person shooters are two different genres, we haven't had major shmup release in a while. How is the Shmup on the poll yet the F/TPS not?

I had troubles deciding between music and sports. I decided for music.

Because... for real. DO WE RALLY NEED ANOTHER ROCK BAND OR 'SOMETHING' HERO? I mean. We got it the first time why dont you just release new songs? Ah cause the accessories cost 160? Oh ok I get it...
