I was curious what you meant by that, and I'm afraid I was right.
It's unfortunate though that being considered a 'trap' is seriously insulting to those of us it technically applies to...

The serious discussion is another thing entirely. XD
I'm not really sure I want to go there right now, but the issue with 'trap' insofar as it applies to my own life is that being a 'trap' implies trickery and deception with the explicit intent to cause some kind of harm to the person/animal/thing that sets off the trap...
I mean, I'm fine with it as a joke to be honest, but it otherwise contributes to the idea that not only am I somehow 'fake', but that the only reason I bother with such 'trickery' is to mislead and harm others.
(Which is very far removed from the reality even if you're talking about crossdressers.)
Anyway...
What was this thread about again? Ooh right. XD
Mmm. Yeah, I can see that. XDOlrod said:Zachary Quinto for me!

Actually, that reminds me that this poll makes me want to choose 'none of the above'.
I mean, I'm not particularly attracted to over-weight people. (I'm bisexual, so saying 'people' is rather deliberate), but in general I don't really care much about body-type. (In either sex).
If I really have to be honest about things that I find physically attractive, it's mostly people's faces.
I don't much care if you're skinny or muscular, big or small... But a person's face on the other hand...
If you read the original thread which made me create this one, even though the question is 'Boob size' a lot of guys commented on the whole body. They like athletically built women with small breats, or hour glass women with medium/large ones. So in a way there is a body-type comparison going on.Dags90 said:It's never going to be more fitting than a direct body-type analogy. For this reason, it won't ever be an effective analogy for me.Sphinx86 said:If you read a slightly later post than the one you quoted (which admittedly only went up very recently ) I do cover another reason why the body-type/breast size analogy is more fitting.
Also, while one has to do the deed (or at least part way) to see a man's size, one can still change to "I'll call you" instead of "Here's my number/Lets do this again" after the deed. It's not like as soon as you see a guys penis you're stuck dating them.
You're talking as if boobs are completely separate from the rest of the body. While I agree boobs can take a focus I know a lot of guys that prefer legs or arses. And most of them still rate the body as a whole ie she can have rocking tits/arse/legs/face but its still a whole package deal.Delsana said:Think of it this way.Sphinx86 said:I'm intrigued by when you've been graded on you genitalia? Admittedly I'm average male size, but usually I find they're more interested in what I'm doing than how big I am.Delsana said:Wouldn't a similar question be more about male genitalia since it's what we're graded more on and is more personal than "body type".Sphinx86 said:In another thread talking about what breasts men prefer (see: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.319146-Poll-Okay-fellow-male-escapists-BOOBIES) someone brought up that guys wouldn't like it if women asked a similar question.
Well I actually would like to know. I know that most of my female friends appreciate a ripped guy, but is that what you really want in your guys? Most guys seem to believe that girls only like the 'perfect' body and can cause the same issues as girls have, we (as a gender) just aren't as open about it.
So if the guy was right in every other aspect, what body would you prefer him to have?
I've written this post asking for a female point of view, mostly because that's the way I'm inclined (and partially because it's easier to write these questions across a gender divide) but if any guys want to comment/poll feel free.
It's an open secret that guys judge themselves on it, but has a women ever? Anyone out there that can elaborate?
Also look a few post above this for a few reason why I picked body types.
MOST men stare at breasts first and then the face and other body later, and so a lot of grading is done on that, the size of the vaginal area is unlikely to be graded and the hair is a second and eyes and body next.
MOST women stare at the body and grade it sure, but while breasts seem to determine sexiness in a man's mind, the only real sexual rating outside of body is the genitalia, and since that is of different sizes and is the thing that determines humilation and confidence between guys, it is also most likely to be the more similar thing to grade on in terms of appearance and function.
Since they also become quite familiar with that more than they will any other part of the body (in most cases) it is also something that will become EXTREMELY graded.
It is more humiliating to a man to grade their genitalia than it is to grade their body. And so... if a woman is humiliated by a breast size grading I would imagine the fair and just thing is to grade genitalia for men.
---
As for my body size? It's average with some muscle, and that's what I'd prefer in my friends but also IF I was of a homosexual nature, which I'm not. As for my genitalia? It's about medium with marginally smaller testicles.
You entirely misunderstand.Sphinx86 said:You're talking as if boobs are completely separate from the rest of the body. I also know girls that mainly rate a guy on a specific part of the mans body, ie back/chest/arse, so again there is a specific focus going on but most of them still prefer the whole body to be good, as well as the focus.
In some ways your argument seems to come down to 'boobs = sex' and 'penis = sex' therefore 'boobs = penis' but while there are some things that boobs can do during sex ( and I'll admit I really enjoy them) for the most part they are used in the attraction and arousal, not the act itself. To me this is the same as man's body, while portions of it can be used in the act, mostly it's used to attract and arouse.
In other words my view is 'boobs are subset of body', 'body = attractiveness'.
But hey everyone has their own opinion.
XD. The costume there is very deliberate. This is a member of a band, and while he is the most feminine looking (ironic considering the band also contains two women), they all look equally... I agree that some women feel degraded when men judge them on their physical attractiveness alone - I've read too many articles to state otherwise. I have also known women who *liked* men thinking they were attractive. Actually I'm not sure there is a woman out there who *doesn't* like to be made feel attractive. It just comes down to how guys go about promoting that point. Someone who's wolf-whistling and making crude remakes (ie objectifying) can degrade anybody (even the bloke standing next to them thinking 'why am I friends with you again?'), somebody who's just gob-smacked or makes a polite comment (ie idolizing) - personally thats a different matter. As for your edit on College and younger men with their charts then yes I can see how that would be degrading for most women. I've also known women who again *liked* the attention - its all a manner of personal tastes.Delsana said:You entirely misunderstand.
It is not that the sexually tantalizing breasts are equalizing to the genitalia of men.
Is it instead the FACT that the breasts are something that men rate that degrades women, based on their breast size, hence why so many feel the need to get implants, and how society emphasizes this in media and in print and in film. As such, the only way to FAIRLY compare how this is being rated is not to say rate men's bodies, but rate the one thing that can degrade them the most as well, which is a sexually considered instrument and which has different sizes, shapes, angles, and variances that men are ashamed of or proud of.
To be fair, you MUST rate the male genitalia if you want to make an equal comparison to rating the female breasts. No other such thing exists between the two that can be so degrading and yet so fulfilling to each person's considerations about themselves, whether they be good or not.
Edit:
College and younger students frequently have charts or scaling systems that rank women, and breasts are always a chief component. If you would ask others to do the individual analysis of a woman by factors such as breasts, and you are told in response that you would not appreciate it if men were ranked in some similar manner, and yet you make a thread about such a thing, the thing that MUST be emphasized is that the "body" is not the primary way a man could be rated and analyzed by a team or individual and actually care about it (much, though different for some people more conscientious), but INSTEAD to focus on the genitalia, something that is very difficult to change (implants do exist though like breasts) and which IS something that is embarrassing and shaming for the vast majority if not all men.
That's all fine, but remember my point:Sphinx86 said:Lmao brilliant!ravenshrike said:No, because then we guys would shift to vagina shapes/tightness/color and that would get really fucking weird really fucking quick. When you read the posts a lot of different views have been put forward regards what is attractive, shouldn't we instead focus on the positive side which is 'See, no matter what you look like you will be attractive to somebody, so don't go nuts about having to be "perfect"'. Not having these open conversations because we are afraid its going to offend some people means that the media presented view is the only one, whereas we've shown that isn't the only view.
In some ways our conversation seems to be drifting towards two blokes making comments about what women feel - which to me is a lot more arrogant or condescending than any conversation about whether someone's hot or not. I for one freely admit that all my points of view are second-hand from my female friends or female written articles, that this can not cover the full cross-section on women out there, and I have no firsthand knowledge of how it feels.
I can say that I started this thread because I truly wanted to know what women thought.
