Well, it is there.
I mean; in the last several years, we got lousy/unstable/unpredictable weather like there is no tomorrow.
Either its unusually hot for the season, or its raining non-stop, or the snow is very, VERY late... or there is record-breaking ammounts of it.

There is a problem, but those who affect the outcome dont care at all. Its all about money, here, and now.

You forgot to add a "Don't care" option in your poll.

I've long since ceased to give a shit, between the Republicans and Democrats in congress bickering and the scientists and 'scientists' arguing back and forth.

You know what? It's irrelevant, because it's either real and will eventually kill us (as it being real doesn't mean we would actually change to fix it*), or it's not real, and we'll blow ourselves up.

*Okay, qualifying statement: Even if the 'West' changes, developing nations could care less. They're more concerned with things like making enough to afford what meager scraps they can subsist on, not making their refineries more 'eco-friendly'. And somehow I don't think the 'go green' campaigns will have much effect on their attitudes.
Don't forget many countries like to encourage their people in places and times with no food to spit out 8-12 children when they know they can only feed/get medicine for three.
These are the same people that like viruses kill anything living thing for food and destroy the land around them.

Sometimes there are parts of the world that are seriously not worth saving...or even mentioning.

I think it's a fact, but I don't think that humans are the sole cause of it. Throughout Earth's history the temperature has fluctuated - Antartica used to have a forest, if science is to be believed.
Humans are only adding fuel to a fire that's already burning, in my opinion.
So what your saying is,

We didn't start the fire
It was always burning
Since the world's been turning
We didn't start the fire
No we didn't light it
But we tried to fight it
Not at all. That last line in particular.
We're hardly doing anything significant to prevent or mitigate it. While I believe it's a natural phenomenon, humans are both accelerating and exacerbating it to a very large extent. Can it be stopped? Possibly, but even if it were doable, it would take action on a scale that would make it a practical impossibility, if not a literal one.
Can it be slowed? Yes, but again I doubt we'll be doing anything significant.
Can it be reversed? No. It will reverse itself in its own time - that's the cyclical nature of the Earth, but it won't be reversed through any human action and whether the human race will be around to see the reversal is another matter entirely.
Can it be dealt with? Yes, I believe this is the route we'll be taking in fact. The human race will find ways to deal with climate change while somehow maintaining their current standard of living. We're very inventive when it comes to adapting, not so much when it comes to giving stuff up.
Just enjoy my Billy Joel reference, its a good song.

It is true, but the earth has cooled and warmed up again too many times to count, so I don't see what all the fuss is about.

Ha, I like that. I guess that was much more concise than I was.
Though exactly how much the human race is actually doing to try and prevent it is something that's up for debate...

Of COURSE I believe in it! If it WEREN'T true, wouldn't the Earth be in a permanent Ice Age?

The planet has been a lot warmer and a lot cooler. It's just the way nature works.
The existance of polar ice caps mean we still are in a ice age :)
.....Going to have to say actually ice caps mean nothing. It's to do with the general temperature of the earth.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Vostok-ice-core-petit.png
If we were in an Ice Age, expect ice sheets to be floating of the coast of Spain (Henrich events) etc.
To me it's the example of science I like to make fun of. Science if fact, records, very specific events.

But it's always twisted in these facts everytime funding day comes around. Aids should have wiped out everyone by now, There should not be a living tree on the planet, and global warming should have reached the balmy tempatures of 114 degrees F. 20 years ago all these predictions were made when I was in school, none are true, none are even close to the level of destruction foretold. But all have been "modified" every year to keep in the spot light.

The wonderful thing is the short term disasters that can not be proven I am bashing the hell on here.

H1N1 oh just the flavor of this years flu. It will kill millions, No it will kill was the flu normally kills probley. And if it wipes out a few more, score to nature as that's was sickness does to over populated herds. I'm just jaded of the entire scam anymore.

I don't find it very hard to understand why the Earth is getting warmer because of all of the stuff humans have been doing. But i still think all of those doomsday predictions are a pile of bullshit.

We all die one day my friend...
One day... you will be unplugged from the Matrix.

Yes, it is true. It will be a very big problem if unchecked too...
If people could accept a middle ground on it, it would be nice.
But it's either end of the world, or hey let's go captain planet villian and pour toxic waste into the sea!

Well it's more like end of the world and to kick the funding up call everyone who arguees with us a planet killer.

Yes, I think global warming is a huge problem.

When you think of global warming, most don't think about the rammifications of even minor changes.

So what if it gets a little hotter?

Well if the temp gets warmer even by a few degrees, the icecaps melt. When the icecaps melt, the natural oceanic currents change. When the current change, the weather patterns change. when the patterns change, crops suddenly can't grow properly, major storms and natural disasters become far more common and far more violent.

Imagine that: a category 6 hurricane rips you town apart, and when the storm finally ends, the government says that they can't give you any food. mass starvation will cause death, and the ones who refuse to starve, will fight. Wars will occur across the globe, populations will be decimated. When the dust settles, the world will go on, but it won't be the world we recognize.

Frankly, anyone who doesn't believe in anthropogenic climate change at this point is beyond the bounds of rationality.

The world will die, humans are just speeding it up. We're like cancer (for lack of a better word... and to express my utter disdain for our race).
That....makes no sense. How can we be killing something that isn't alive?
Well, there is the super organism theory. Hm...

I agree with this. While humans are most certainly having an impact on the environment (I'm not necessarily talking about global warming here. There are plenty of other environmental problems humans have caused), I don't think we'll be so stupid as to let it be the death of us. This is just another problem we will eventually overcome.

"yes, its a huge problem" AND there is nothing we can do about it, the way our society currently is.
