Poll: GoW: what does it mean?

Gears of War.
I played neither, but my brother played Gears of War on his 360.
So I associate GoW with Gears of War first. I'm still aware though that many people read GoW as God of War.

I've never referred to either games as 'GoW'. To me, Gears of War is Gears and God of War is well...God of War, but if I see 'GoW' I tend to think of both games

god of war was pretty, much all i played in 2005 and i never really got into gears because it makes me think that shooters are all about blood, cover mechanics, regenerating health and the colour brown

God of War is the first thing to come to mind for me, as it should be. It was here first!

Kidding aside, most people I know don't even abbrieviate Gears of War as GoW. They call it Gears, which is a lot easier and less prone to confusion in my opinion.

i read it as god of war. but when i say the game, i never say GoW. gears of war on the other hand i say as gears.

GoW is God of War as it came first and is still around and Gears is the shortened term for Gears of War. While I am aware some people use GoW for Gears for some reason I've yet to meet someone who does it in real life.
