Poll: GoW - What series do you think of first?

God of War, as I've always seen Gears of War abbreviated as Gears.

I agree, although I do not like the God of War series, Gears just sorta rolls of the tung.

Gears of War i call Gears in real life but on the interwebz, it can be either or. It seem people are lazy when typing so its up to you to figure it out in the details after the abbreviation.

Gears of War is a good game,God of War is something I enjoyed immensely more than I should have maybe.

However the GoW acronym is more closely tied to Gears so I think of that.

I've seen this question asked enough times that when I see GoW, I immediately think both Gears and God of War and then enter the thread to find out which one.

Though it actually depends on the context. If I know the person owns a 360 and not a PS2/3, then I'll assume Gears of War. Or if the thread/place of discussion wouldn't have an opportunity for God of War to be talked about.

Usually Gears, although God of War is getting a bit of a boost since 3 is about to be released.

I think Gears of War, since I haven't ever played God of War and don't really plan on it. Doesn't look particularly interesting.

God of War because:
A) They did it first.
B) Gears of War is just Gears
C) It's the better game
D) God of War is actually good in my opinion as opposed to Gears in which I go back and forth between it's ok and not liking it at all.
E) At this point God of War is the one that's a complete franchise where as Gears only has two games so far.

I went with God of War. I've never played either of the God games, but I've played Gears many times. I first thought of God because psychologically (subconsciously?) I matched the "Go" in GoW with God, so it was the first thing I thought of.

Besides, I usually just say "gears" when I want to limit confusion.

Gears of War, which is a shame because I think it's overrated (I have both, so cool your flames), While God of War is more or less a flawed piece of gaming art.
