Orcarina of Time and Link to the Past are really close for me, but definitely not Phantom Hourglass

Wind Waker because the graphics were so immersive I actually wanted to play through it again like the game does.
I like the second play-through, Link can beat Ganon in his jammies. ^_^
They should have made it like the Second Quest in the first Zelda though, where it gets harder.

My favourite is

dun-duhduh-dun

Ocarina of Time, of course. I enjoyed Twilight Princess, Wind Waker and - to an extent - Majora's Mask immensely, but there's still no contest. Who is to know? Maybe the new one will change that.

Where's the original LoZ for NES? Adventures of Link is the second one.

My personal favourites are the duo of A Link to the Past and Link's Awakening, though Ocarina of Time is definitely a brilliant game.
I'm seconding Link's Awakening, and it's a damn shame it falls in the "other" option.

Link's Awakening really deserves to have its own listing, it's a shame most people missed it. It was basically the original zelda on steroids. Lots and lots of steroids.

My favorite is LttP partly for nostalgia, and mostly because it's the game that really cemented the cornerstones of the Zelda universe. Almost every element of the game (the music, Link's items, the NPCs, the cohesive world, the gameplay) has been used and re-used in every Zelda title to date.
I'm not sure what makes Ocarina of Time so high up on others' lists. The world felt disjointed by making Hyrule Field be the hub for everything, and character interactions were...awkward, to say the least. I guess there's some shock value in it being the first 3D zelda, but it was released in late 1998, a full two years after N64's launch. Titles such as Mario 64 already showed us what a good 3D game played like, and OoT didn't show us anything we didn't already know. Still a good game, though.

Gwuh? I'm the only one who said Twilight Princess? I didn't know it was that unpopular.

Link's Awakening. My first Zelda game (and the first game I can remember playing), and it's still my favourite.

Majora's mask was my personal favorite. It had solid gameplay, and the masks were a nice touch

OF COURSE I'M JOKING!
Ocarina of Time revolutionized gaming. It is my favorite, with my second being Majora's Mask, followed by Wind Waker.

MM 4evah, the gameplay was nice, the way there were multiple swords was a good idea, and the time thing made the game that much harder, after all onc you used the time song thing, your item count went down to zero, then you would move onto the next level, the masks and transformations wasalso great additiojs and put a sin on the entire game, and of course deity fom was an epic win 4evah! MM for ever.

Three way tie for me between Twilight Princess, Ocarina of Time, and Majora's Mask. Those games are great and there can be no winner in this contest.

Since the only Zelda game I've played was "the Minish Cap" i give my vote to it by default.

Yeah... I'd say Link's Awakening and A Link to the Past are the best since the first two are fairly crude, and while later Zelda titles are excellent, I felt the complexity of 3D environments caused the series to lose the eloquent simplicity that made it appealing at inception.
