I liked Wind Waker the best. I just loved sailing around the sea in my sweet boat discovering all kinds of islands.
I almost went with that, but then I remembered the Darknuts from Twilight Princess, who proved to be the most epic and fun enemy I've seen in any Zelda game.

Ocarina of Time, followed by Wind Waker, then by MAjora's Mask.

The others, in my opinion, were just guys trying to cash in on a winning formula. These three games made their OWN winning formulas.
How can you say that when Link to the Past set the formula seven years before OoT?
Link to the past was in 2d. OOT set the stage for 3d ideas, and did it damn well.

Though I'll give LTTP an honorary mention for breaking out Zelda games into the SNES. But it's not on my good list IMO.

OoT was late to the 3D party, titles such as Super Mario 64 and Goldeneye already showed what was capable in the 3D realm.
I can't fault you for liking it the best, as that's purely opinion, but I can't agree that it was all that innovative. It really felt like Nintendo took the 3D formula used to create SM64, applied it to LttP, and got OoT as the result.

At least, to me it did.

A Link to the Past. Ironically, I don't really enjoy Ocarina of Time or Twilight Princess because they became very samey (grass, fire, water, light, dark, sword, bow, hookshot, etc.) Majora's Mask was a nice change but I really didn't like the 3-day system, it became tedious to me.

I think the OOT love is from nostalgia and appreciation of the game's innovation. But actual best is, to me, MM.

I loved Twilight Princess but OoT will always be my favorite. It's what got me into the Zelda series. Not to mention it was my first real taste of an Action/platformer/rpg. XD

I vote for Ocarina of Time, with Link to the Past coming in second. I don't find any of the others particularly memorable (because they're all trying to copy one of the above two).

How can Ocarina of Time be picked for nostalgia?!?! If nostalgia is the deciding factor people would either pick LttP or the original! Gah, people!
