Despite the great reception that The Beatles: Rock Band received, I still see "Band: The Rhythm/Music Game" type games like these as shameless cash-ins. Forcing gamers to buy completely separate games just to be able to play the songs of certain bands, when the original games are designed around the ability to buy and download additional music, is just downright greedy.

Why must they keep releasing these kinda games? Just make the entire contents available for download for the same price. It'd be less CD clutter for me.

Sigh..... What the hell is going on right here? Green day's older work is brilliant, I love it; the guitar fits it perfectly, but is it exceptional, is it notable? Nein. NEIN NEIN NEIN. They're going to have an exceedingly difficult time selling a game with 5 chords to play. Although, the masses who've heard "American Idiot" and "Know Your Enemy" (not the ratm song, the piece of shit new Green Day one) will be all "GAHUYVEN, I KNOW THAT BAND, MUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUM, MUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUM, I CAN HAS?"

Having said all of that, I couldn't possibly care less, I'm a PC gamer, and I'll have fun playing my real guitar.

As for vocals, drums, and bass, meh. Meh I say (I'd like to reaffirm that I like Green Day, but the idea of rock band: green day is fucked)

Fair enough, now people can play Long View and all the hits without the infinite effort of learning four chords.

Green Day seem as good a band as any, they've lasted twenty years so they're doing something right (writing bags of good songs that teenagers can relate to maybe?), even if it's not fashionable to like them right now.

I've been a fan of the rythm game genre for years now. I always felt that people bashed guitar hero beause they felt activision "sold out" when in reality harmonix was just as much of a sellout. The beatles rock band was touted as this great treatment for a band game, but in reality that was because the beatles were extreme tightasses about their property and good for them because harmonix would have whored them out as bad as activision did aerosmith and van halen. In a recent interview on the EA podcast harmonix guys said they would never go through what they went through with the beatles(which is what made that game what it is) a second time, so I don't expect the greenday game to be all that. Honestly I think rock band and guitar hero are at their best when they offer downloadable content for their current existing games and all these bands need to get over themselves trying to have their own game as though they were special.

Fail from harmonix... You just made Beatles Rock Band but then you make another about a band not nearly as influencial or as good. I think the only reason they made this is because they already have enough the who songs for DLC along with many other bands like nirvana to warrant them to make a game for them.

Better then greenday,(Greenday sucks, and inb4 that stupid "cause its cool to hate things everyone likes" argument") though with nirvana i wouldn't think it would be much of a challenge, Nao, i RB Game with Grunge Rawk bands would own, Nirvana, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam.
