Make a Led Zep Rock Band! They are actually a rock band unlike green day who were a punk band and are now a whiny emo band.

I acually like Green Day, I've liked em for a while. Never really loved them I just like most of their songs, but a whole game made twords them, that seems a bit strange.

These days any band can get a game.

Ugh. I love Rock band, but I don't like this idea. I forgave The Beatles Rock Band mostly because I fucking love The Beatles, but even there I felt it should've been a DLC pack more than anything. But Green Day? Ugh. First off, the best tracks in Rock Band are classic tracks. Secondly, Green Day is a pre-packaged and overtly bland group that makes my ears bleed and signifies all that is wrong with modern music, particularly modern American music. I'm all for releasing full albums or track packs over Rock Band's music store, and if Rock Band players want Green Day they should just put a Green Day pack on the music store instead of foisting it onto consumers with a big price tag.

Also, I'm kinda rambling off into my own rantiness now so feel free to stop reading this post if you don't like that sort of thing but why DOES modern music have to suck? Yes, there are good modern bands; Lacuna Coil, Voltaire, The Pillows, Red hot Chili Peppers etc. and a few of the remaining classic bands still put out good stuff here and there but 95% of all music made after the 80s sucks. Especially if it comes from America. It just does. I'll even argue that the 80s was when it went downhill. Rock was best during the 60s and 70s, I'll take Jefferson Airplane (Not Starship), Pink Floyd (ESPECIALLY Pink Floyd. Best band evar.), The Doors, Queen, ELO and other bands any day over most of the crap coming out now. I'm into psychadelic stuff and space rock, and I like early metal (AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Def Leppard, etc.) but there's a point where rocks tarted sounding like static noise while some asshole whines and metal turned into idiots growling about dead babies and repeating the same loud guitar riff over and over again with no rhyme or reason.

Oh, and Harmonix, I understand not releasing too much Pink Floyd since a lot of their stuff is fairly lengthy and experimental, but PLEASE at least give us Money or Time. Please?! :(

Honestly, I think it's a great idea. Especially if you're in your mid-20s - early 30s and Green Day's music had a place on your high school soundtrack. It's the case for me, and I even enjoy their recent work. So I'm definitely looking forward to it.

Most of the bands that have had GH or Rock Band games made have been older acts. While that doesn't detract from the quality of the music or timelessness of it, as in The Beatles Rock Band, this is the first aimed more at that 20s/30s audience (not excluding others, but their core are GD fans)

I didn't like Green Day before they were famous and don't like em very much now that they are famous. The game's not going to suck any more than any other single-band Guitar Hero/Rock Band game, though. It's always the same anyways, pressing the right button at the right time and occasionaly pulling up the controller to earn bonus points.

I for one, couldn't be happier hearing this. Not because Im one of those "OH, Green Day! I looooove Green Day! They're so suicidal and feel the same way about things I do!" but because Im a huge fan of ALL theyre stuff, there new album, best of album of the year in my opinion. Great songs and catchy guitar riffs.

Well... Green Day is a popular band, so it will sell really well, making lots of money. Making money is a good thing, right?

How do you make the leap from Beatles to Green Day?
Isn't that called jumping the shark?
Pretty much.

For some reason, the minute I read the thread title MC Lars's "Hot Topic is Not Punk Rock" started playing in my head. Oh right, probably because Greenday are a bunch of shite sellouts.

My opinion of music games in general is pretty much "Why release them beyond the first? DLC for everything else.".

Obviously money is the driving force of this game, so I really don't care at all. I sorta like Green Day's first couple of albums, so it's not a terrible choice of band for this type of game I guess.

Yup. Yet another band-specific Guitar Hero/Rock Band game. God, we don't get enough of these.

I could care less about whether they feature Green Day or Beatles or Van Halen, etc. Stick to the track packs, Harmonix. There is no reason to grind the series into fine dust like Activision has done with Guitar Hero.

I say that guitar would be exceptionally easy. I could play most of these songs with little to no effort on a real guitar, why should I on an old one? Bass would be easy on the newer songs, but the old ones are actually sort of difficult. Drums are iffy, as well as vocals.

I like Green Day, but it's a bad band to pick for Rock Band.

I'm not sure. This doesn't seem to be expanding on the original Rock Band Premise so it leaves me wondering what's the point of making a Rock Band with less variety and something which could basically be covered by tossing all the best Green Play songs into a normal Rock Band game.

With the Beetles, I suppose some could argue that it was a celebreation of their brilliance which leaves me wondering since when were Green Day up their with The Beetles. Unless someone out their intends to shoot (isert name of Green Day member here who fans care about) I don't see the point.

I don't know who to feel sorry for more, Green Day or the children.

Both are tragic victims of this plague.
The children have it worse. Green Day get money out of it.

Led Zep Rock Band? Not too sure. Sounds good on paper, but I would rather keep them out of the Rock Band thing, lest we have 10 year olds going "ZOMG I LURV LED ZEPLENZ!!!11" merely because they bought the game. They wouldn't really get the "true spirit" of the music, as it were.
