Ugh. I love Rock band, but I don't like this idea. I forgave The Beatles Rock Band mostly because I fucking love The Beatles, but even there I felt it should've been a DLC pack more than anything. But Green Day? Ugh. First off, the best tracks in Rock Band are classic tracks. Secondly, Green Day is a pre-packaged and overtly bland group that makes my ears bleed and signifies all that is wrong with modern music, particularly modern American music. I'm all for releasing full albums or track packs over Rock Band's music store, and if Rock Band players want Green Day they should just put a Green Day pack on the music store instead of foisting it onto consumers with a big price tag.
Also, I'm kinda rambling off into my own rantiness now so feel free to stop reading this post if you don't like that sort of thing but why DOES modern music have to suck? Yes, there are good modern bands; Lacuna Coil, Voltaire, The Pillows, Red hot Chili Peppers etc. and a few of the remaining classic bands still put out good stuff here and there but 95% of all music made after the 80s
sucks. Especially if it comes from America. It just does. I'll even argue that the 80s was when it went downhill. Rock was best during the 60s and 70s, I'll take Jefferson Airplane (Not Starship), Pink Floyd (ESPECIALLY Pink Floyd. Best band evar.), The Doors, Queen, ELO and other bands any day over most of the crap coming out now. I'm into psychadelic stuff and space rock, and I like early metal (AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Def Leppard, etc.) but there's a point where rocks tarted sounding like static noise while some asshole whines and metal turned into idiots growling about dead babies and repeating the same loud guitar riff over and over again with no rhyme or reason.
Oh, and Harmonix, I understand not releasing too much Pink Floyd since a lot of their stuff is fairly lengthy and experimental, but PLEASE at least give us Money or Time. Please?!
