Well in most games I'm inclined to immediately grab it and lob it back, but my question is: In real life if a grenade landed in front of you, what would you do?

As much I would like to say; I would pick it up and throw it, I think I'd jump.

theres no way to tell how long it was held before it was thrown at you. i would run my ass off promptly screaming and cursing.

Wouldn't have enough time to lob it back, I think.

I'd be verrrry confused to find a grenade landing in front of me during my normal life. I'd probably lob it away.

I'd probably either run away or kick it away, depending on what the situation is. If I'm sitting in a char in a small room there isn't much point in kicking it as it'll bounce of the walls. If it lands in front of me on the street I'll probably give it a woosh though.

Most games don't base there gernades off of actual gernades. An actual genade could easily destroy you if you tried to run away and unless you saw the gernade coming a mile away I doubt your reaction time would be fast enough to throw it out of your vicnity. (Which would be several meters away). The only possible option would be to kiss your ass goodbye...actually you proably wouldn't have time to do that either.
