I wish I could play real guitar, but as it is, I play Guitar Hero occasionally. I can play the Tuba though.

Real, honestly. Although I play bass, not guitar, I think it's just better and more useful to learn to play an instrument than to learn press buttons on a plastic object that resembles an instrument.

After all; Sex, drugs and rock 'n roll is much better than basement, half eaten bag of cheetos and rock 'n roll. Has more of a ring to it.

I plan to learn playing guitar. Playing music games is cool but it doesn't even give you a BIT of what playing a real guitar is. Currently I've been "trying" to play anything for around 2 months and though I still cant play for shit... I enjoy the heck out of it :).

With real guitar, I plan to get a future.
But becoming a musician and nothing else is a long shot.
I didn't say I was going to take that only and eliminate everything else. But I'll try to become a musician or guitar teacher. And if that fails, I'm probably going to get into computer programming.

Unfortunately, I'm crap at both. Yay uncoordination in GH! That is why I prefer play RB: they have drums. I can deal with finding the beat and following said beat. I often air drums while others play GH, cause I'm so crap at it... Don't judge me.

I do view real guitar very highly, though I can't play it. I wish I could learn, but I lack the money to. Damn capitalist societies... Ah well. I suppose that is a future goal. I borrowed my neighbour's guitar for one day and I was learning fairly quickly for a beginner, so I guess I will have to keep on lamenting my lack of guitar-playing-awesomeness. Though, for some reason, I always feel I may be better off playing bass...

All I can say is that the real thing will always remain cooler than the game.

Real instruments by far. I just find it a lot more fun to play real drums than playing the Guitar Hero/Rockband drums.

This is just asking for flame.

However personally, i own 4 guitars (2 electric, 1 acoustic, 1 12 string acoustic) and a banjo.

The guitar heroes tick me off, not because they arent anything like real guitar but the fact that the idea stopped where it did. Why not just go all the way? Make a game where you plug youre REAL guitar into your tv (maybe like a double cord into youre tv and your amp?) and it plays the backing music for you. THAT would be awesome.

I prefer playing real guitar. It gives me a better sense of accomplishment. Since my dad plays lead guitar in many local bands I can watch him and other guitarists to get a sense of their styles. He has a wide variety of guitars from jazz boxes to solid body's so I can try out different ones for a certain song and notice the difference in sounds. Using real instruments can let you express yourself, something you can't do with Guitar Hero.

Prefer? Yes, a miniture plastic guitar will conquer the rock stages and we will crawl in Harmonix and Activisions wake.

I find more development of soul and character when I'm going raving lunatic on my shiny strat.

I play some guitar. It's much more interesting than GH. Whereas GH is just fun, I feel like I'm getting somewhere when I play the guitar. It's lovely to be able to remember which fret and which string makes which noise. It's intellectually stimulating.

I just started guitar, and it's difficult, but it's alot more rewarding. Both are fun, but when you play it, no matter how shitty you sound, it's you who's making the sound. But, I love to play my sax... And I'm damn good at that XD
