Poll: Guns or Melee?

Eh im a gunslinger to the core. I'm the guy in Battlefront 2 who preffered Boba Fett to the Jedi, and i could usually always kill them, unless they ganged up on me. I love pistols and SMGs, and of course Assault Rifles are always fun. So satisfying to pop people in the head, or if there's ragdoll physics get creative haha

Depends on the game.
Guns/Magic/Ranged abilities tend to have more tactical advantages...
But a part of my psyche is simply dissatisfied without melee combat.
Unless of course it's something like Mechwarrior where seeing a small explosion in the distance after I group fire 4 PPCs brings a small smile to my face.
But given the choice? If I'm playing alone, I have to be ranged so I can take on anyone abusing terrain and such...but if I have support from other players/characters, I want to be the melee.
Or if melee is just undeniably awesome in the game we're talking about...
But overall, I enjoy melee more, but ranged is more practical in most cases.

It really depends on both the game and the situation presented, though overall i like to use vehicular combat.

In nearly every game with melee, such as Halo, Gears of War, even the Battlefield series, it's often a stupid tactic that is either cowardly, nooby, or just plain irritating and lame. You have a gun, use it.
I'm a ranged man through and through and make use of every gun from snipers to pistols. I despise dorks who rush my position intent on using their machine gun more like a club than a gun. I love pumping said meleers full of lead when they try to cross the no man's land, however.

since I'm too much of a coward to fight with hand-to-hand or melee, I choose guns. Sniper rifles to be more specific. Take someone out from a half-mile away
Guns are usually quite heavy. Once you're out of ammo, your firearm of choice can make an adequate club.
Assuming you're a normal human, melee would not be a good choice unless you're armour-clad. Think Big Daddy.
With firearms, you get both options.
