It's just a character. If i'm playing WoW i like something to look at if you catch my drift.

I don't really treat males and females any different in real life, so it doesn't bother me what gender another person plays.

When im to make a character for a game the gender usually get choosen depending on what name i come up with, if a male name pops up i make it male, if its female i go with that.

Look like fags as compared to roleplaying as a woman? Jesus, if you are going to be homophobic, at least do it right.
Sorry I don't understand what you mean.
I mean if you are going to use homophobic slang to defend yourself pretending to be a woman (transvestite), you are being incredibly hypocritical.

I sometimes play as females, because sometimes I get a bit fed up with the over-macho guys that you only ever seem to be able to create. If I'm going to be staring at a screen for a while, I'd rather be looking at an attractive female character than a ridiculously macho-man.

That being said, I don't always play as females, if I can make a guy that isn't too over the top, then I'll go with him.

I've never really had issues with people flirting with me or trying to give me free stuff as a female character, I correct them straight away if they start, but I would probably really hate it if that happened a lot. I really look down upon the people who make females simply to try and get free stuff, and even more so the people who actually give them free stuff.

And to all the idiots out there that seem to think playing a female character as a man makes me homosexual, I'm not the one staring at man-ass whenever I log in.

*EDIT*
In fact, why do people even get flirty with female avatars on online games? You actually expecting it to lead somewhere? Idiots.

That doesn't make sense.

Are you retarded? You are saying some people look like fags (a very homophobic insult) and calling them out, while trying to defend yourself from roleplaying as a member of the opposite gender. I don't know how much more blatantly I can explain it.

I go by what i want the character to be, if i want a nimble and agile character, i choose a woman, if i want a strong and bruteish character, i choose a man.

Who am I calling a fag? And I am not defending myself going a female character because I just choose to go them sometimes, don't say stupid things to me please.

Mr. Tea - I would totally show up to work dressed like someone from Mass Effect. If only I could find that hot armor....

Anyway, I always play as a guy in any game I'm playing. I just can't get into a game if the person I'm controlling is female, it's too much of an imagination stretch for me to get into the game.

I have a friend though who plays as a female character in a lot of online games. The reason is because he says he's able to get a lot of free stuff from guys who's only interaction with the opposite sex is through a computer screen. Thing is, he also flirts with guys, hard. This could be construed as part of the plan, but he'll do it for not gain, and in games that there isn't any gain to be had. We can remember him doing this as far back as when we were playing Jedi Knight online. (No, you couldn't play as a female character in that game, but he would pretend he was female when chatting with people we played with.)

This always kind of bugged us because it is really deceitful towards those on the other end. Sure, you flirt online with someone and you reap what you sow, but taking advantage of that is kind of...dirty. Plus, we (myself and this person's other friends) have long suspected that he's gay, and wish he'd just come out already. But hey, we could be wrong.

I've noticed that if there are guys playing as girl characters, it is usually for one of three reasons.
1) They want to mooch off of the guy populace that want to supply the "girl" with stuff to make "her" life easier and to steal the one "girl" off the internet from the other female-starved men of the gaming nation.
2) They don't want to stare at a man's derriere for the entire duration of their play-time.
3) Sometimes playing a girl character is more fun (i.e games where the class the player wants is strictly female).
THIS.

In games like Oblivion/Fallout3 that I plan to replay at least twice, I play once as a male and once as a female to see the variation in speech.

In Mass Effect, I'm playing through as a female at the minute because I wanna see if I can get her to have lesbian sex.. sad, I know.

If I am going to spend a couple of hours with a camera behind my character the character might as well have a nice behind.

The fact that my character is female doesn't inhibit me from relating to the character or the character from representing me in any way. Gender is rarely an issue in my real life and even less so in the gaming world.

Not worth responding to anymore.
