Poll: Halo 3, not so perfect after all?

I think Halo 3 was very overhyped because it may be a wel made game but it's nothing special, it's just another shooter and a mediocre one at best. Just look at Gears of War 2; better graphics, better controls, better story and above all way cooler online.

I gues the thing that really bugs me is the fact that people talk about the game like it's a piece of God or something and if you point those people at the flaws in the game they defend it like it's a little baby that needs their protection.

I want to know your opinion on this because I don't know if I'm the only one who thinks this or if there are more people who agree with this statament.

Edit: After reading all your reactions I gues my oppinion on Halo 3 didn't take so wel. So let me explain some things; I never said Halo 3 wasn't fun but I didn't say it was fun because I wanted to tell you why the game is overrated, secondly Gears of War 2 was just an example there are many shooters that are better than Halo 3 like Doom for instance.

I thought was pretty good, not some shining god of a game but pretty good, everyone else can fuck right off for all care.
Stop ripping the story, it is well thought out if somehow cliched. Stop ripping the gameplay, it is balanced and well done. And the soundtrack is fucking beautiful.

Don't do Halo threads, yes the Halo games are not the best in the world we understand that. We also know that people think diffrently to each other.

I dont think anyone on this forum has ever said it was perfect. And you are really, really late with this, as so many others share your opinion. IMO, though, halo 3 is great and it appeals much more to me than Gears 2. At least the online part do.

Well I only ever played it for the single player, extremely good from that perspective. Not perfect though.

Is this thread really necessairy, I mean everyone knows it's not perfect, theres flaws in every game out there, and obviously it was overhyped, I was at the midnight launch and the best part was when the store employees said that they won't be selling to anyone without ID and the group of kids in front of my friends and I left.

I consider it a forced extension of a game that was never meant to have sequels. Halo was amazing, it changed how people view FPS games, mainly in inspiring developers to march in step, but that speaks down to other developers. Bungie made an excellent title that they then used the hype of to reap the rewards of cash from millions of gamers for mediocre sequels.

I liked the multiplayer a lot, but the main story was very short and anti-climatic.

Yeah we get it Halo isn't perfect, never was. I liked it(even though I think Timesplitters is better) and think it is a fairly good shooter. Although could you explain how Halo is mediocre at best?

This. Has. Been. Done. To. Death. Did you have to bring it up? It is not a perfect game, everyone and their mother probably already knew that. Some may say it is the greatest game of all time, but those guys usually are fanboys. It is, however, not the worst game of all time, and those who say it is probably have never played Ghostbusters for the NES, or are fanboys of a different kind. It is a decent game. It is not the greatest game of all time, nor is it the worst.
