Apples and oranges my friend. Of course Gears 2 is going to have better graphics, it released over a year after Halo 3. I guess you could compare controls but it wouldn't make any sense, since the gameplay of each game is completely different. Story? Come on, really? This is Gears of War we're talking about. And your online comment is debatable. Very debatable. Yes, Gears has Horde, and matchmaking is a slight improvement on Halo 3 (I like being able to vote on a map and gametype, instead of having to veto a bad map and gametype, in the hopes that an even worse combination wouldn't show up). But other than that, the matchmaking isn't very different from Halo 3's (except for the obvious changes of gametypes and gameplay). Halo had Forge, which combined with the almost unlimited options of custom games, has spawned some really fun minigames created specifically for certain maps (Grifball, Cat and Mouse chase, hell there are even racetrack maps).Tarmon said:

I actually didn't wanna comment here but what the hell aye, oki as stated further up about the grapichs halo3 was created about a year before gears 2, with the evolution of grapichs and shit that isn't such a good point in my opinion. still the controls in Halo is pretty good and easy and i like them. The better story part... in Gears i haven't gotten the entire story (because i haven't played it) but from what ive heard the story is not the point of this game. from what ive heard its not as much about the story its more about cutting someone up whit a chainsaw. And my experience with online play in most games is that its often more about the players, i could have a fucking good time playing most games online as long as the people i were playing with were cool.anyways final word. I've always thought Halo was a pretty pants concept and series of games but I must admit I've been having fun recently playing the first one multiplayer in college. It's been done to death I a million other things and its not brining anything original to the gaming world.
Oh, and, the whole "people hate it because its popular" argument is pathetic. It's just a cop-out for people that love it to make the haters appear as if they have no logic behind their opinions.

these threads have been done and yes it sucked in the story but it had good points and it is not the company that makes the game it is the gamer that makes it because they create what the game is. without gamers like ourselves where would the games be??

After reading all your reactions I gues my oppinion on Halo 3 didn't take so wel. So let me explain some things; I never said Halo 3 wasn't fun but I didn't say it was fun because I wanted to tell you why the game is overrated, secondly Gears of War 2 was just an example there are many shooters that are better than Halo 3 like Doom for instance. (just joking)
