I was playing again earlier and it kills me that it's loved quite so much, honestly, I just don't get it. I did play a lot of Halo 3 with friends and it's not like I suck at the game but I spent most of my time today just getting frustrated at it. The kills don't feel rewarding because of how many bullets need to be plowed into players, except for snipers, rockets etc, and the sci-fi, softened noises of the guns just don't do it for me.
I realise it's just for fun, and shouldn't be taken too seriously, but to think that people get addicted to it, and they do, just confuses me. I feel like I'm missing a game that isn't just pretty run of the mill and wish I knew why.
PS. The worrying part is, I think I might just be coming to realise that as I've grown up, I've stopped playing games online as much as I used to. Pulling towards wanting a good single player experience rather than accepting average online because friends are there too; makes me worry about becoming a casual gamer/how much time I've wasted.
