I agree with you here, but I think it can be used on defensive game types such as stockpile. Also, and I'm sure this will become more apparent when the beta releases, each ability must have it's downside. I can't wait to play it!
The downside being someone could just wait around to kill you. Or perhaps just wait behind you and assassinate you the second you unlock. Either way, I can certainly see a downside to being frozen.

I put sprint, I just like getting places faster plus it would give me more chance of dodging weapons fire.
You do realize that armor lock sends a shockwave that pushes people back when released and knocks out their shields. Also you have to be an idiot to let someone stand behind you since you have a 3rd person perspective that you can move around. I think you can also turn and look behind you while in armor lock and when you get out of it, you'll be facing the way the camera is angled.

I was going to say "Maximun Strengh" but ....

ok jokes aside, for some reason I am starting to get interested on this Halo, due to past experiences I will wait before getting it, but if I do, I'll go with stealth (Active Cammo)

Camo or sprint..... assassin, assassin, assassin.

Is it just me or do sprint and dodge seem like they should be natural abilities, instead of armor abilities.

This sounds a lot like Crysis armour. I've never actually played a Halo game online, I try to avoid them due to it being mostly an Xbox game. So how does this work? Is it like a perk in MW2, or can you change during gameplay like Crysis?
It's like MW2, you chose your load-out each time you spawn, the load-out's consist of spawn weapons and one armour ability (all listed in the poll). So like MW2, if you're having a worse then average game, you can change your load out and switch strategies to mix things up a little. I've never played the Crysis games, so I can't give an opinion on that.
Ah. In Crysis, you have a super suit which can only have one ability active at a time, but you can change them when ever you like, by holding down middle mouse and just pointing at it ;) Kinda useful, sneak up behind people, speed mode to them, then whack 'em with strength mode.

On topic: Oooh, the jetpack sounds nice, could be useful for trying to snipe or something.

Active camo...
with my feet on the ground and my knife in your back :D (although Jet packs will be the first or close second that I try, considering the novelty)

Nah, he was saying his vote didn't show.

It's just a bit slow, is all.

The problem with jetpacks are that you're incredibly vulnerable while flying about. There's no cover in the sky.

Oh I see, so Reach's armour abilities are less real time than Crysis, and more similar to the perk system in Modern Warfare 2, changing every time you spawn. However this is all based on the Beta, and things may change when the real game comes out. Would be interesting to see if this load out system is changed in any way?

Yeah, you can fly into a bright area and blind your enemies with the bloom.

I want to say jetpack, I really do, but it seems like a ticket to a helpless screaming death. I'm going with Armor Lock, because it seems like an especially badass way to reverse a deadly situation. Watching that smug opponent and his splatter spree shatter over my Iron Man pose is a lovely thought.

Or bring far too much attention onto yourself?

It's an awesome idea in itself but having it blast an EMP pulse when released is a bit much.
I spent a full 5 minutes staring at your avatar..

OT: Ill be Jetpacking my way through reech life i think, just looks so cool, cammo rocks too however, and armor lock is just bad ass..

I would go for Invisibility, it can be used offensively. defensively and for evasion techniques.

Very useful.

[sub]Armor abilities are reminding me of that Red Vs Blue season with the AI's...

Perhaps a "Meta/juggernaut mode"? [/sub]
Like the Juggernaut mode in the previous Halo multi-player? I don't think it's available in the beta, but I imagine Bungie will keep all the old favourites and put them in Reach, it would be silly not to.

Imagine a Juggernaut flying towards you on a jet-pack..."any last words before I stomp on your head??"
