Is the multiplayer on ODST the same as 3?
Literally, yes. They give a second disc which is just the Halo 3 multiplayer, without any of the extra weapons from the game.
What do you mean, "without any of the extra weapons from the game"?

If you want to play Halo for the story I would have to say get Halo 1. In my opinion I found ODST to be much better because there was more of a human element to it and not some big space marine who was genetically altered. Plus, the music in ODST is really good.

Combat Evolved, It's simply amazing. I used to take my x-box into 6th form and we would play it all day. The fact that we never got caught despite stealing a TV and a classroom so we could play is amazing...

As what most people have said, if you can wait, get Reach, but if not then get ODST (which includes halo 3's multiplayer).

Well each game gets a worse campaign and better multiplayer. Halo 1 for campaign, ODST if you want the immediate multiplayer. BUT from playing the reach beta, if you're only going to buy one, definitely wait, because it's strait up fucking awesome. Also, since reach seems to be trying to recapture some of the halo 1 magic, I'm sure the campaign will be a lot better too.

If you want Multiplayer, get 3 or wait for Reach. If you want an awesome single player, get the first one. Halo 1 is awesome.

I will admit that I rather heavily exaggerated that. You see, there were a handful of weapons unique to ODST, and the game also used a health pack system. Neither was in the multiplayer, it was Halo 3's with all of the map packs.

If you can wait until Fall, get Reach. If you need Halo now, go and get ODST. ODST has a great single-player campaign and it comes with Halo 3's multiplayer. It's the best of both worlds

I would not get ODST if I were you, not worth it. Full game price for a 5-6 hr campaign and a "Firefight" mode that will last about 2 hrs is not worth it. Get Halo 3 or wait for Reach instead.
