A very happy Yorkshire day to the cocks and loves of the great socialist republic of Yorkshire! Except the East Riding, we're not too keen on them. Here's a few Yorkshire related videos for our enjoyment.

Discussion value you say? Erm, favourite thing about Yorkshire I guess. A few more videos if you can think of any. We could play "Find the rude word in Scunthorpe", that's always a laugh.

I'm from Yorkshire!

Yes, I do love pastry. Why do you ask?

Also Yorkshire pudding FTW! (Even though I'm pretty sure it's not from Yorkshire...)

EDIT: Post 444 Yay?

2nd EDIT: West is best.

Uh-oh, trouble at mill, there'll be 'ell fo' leather if gaffer 'ears 'bout this 'ere thread, nowt int line o' discussion...........is what I'd say if I gave a shit about that kind of thing.

(Translation - Oh dear me, there shall be words with you if the administrators find about about the severe lack of discussion value in this thread. I'm afraid circumstances have led me to report you to the forum authorities nyaaah). Don't worry, I've not reported it, just seemed funny at first.

But I do applaud you for bringing the culture of Yorkshire to the masses, gave my uncle a good laugh too, straaiiight out o' Otley e' is liiike.

¬_¬ I'm living in East Yorkshire at the minute, ya cheeky sod. It's much better than my home town. Then again, a skip is better than my home town.
My favourite is West Yorkshire, loads of awesome people come from there. (Patrick Stewart, Ade Edmunson, Malcolm McDowell...)

Forgot to add, originally from Bradford. T' Yorkshire blood running through my veins.

I don't know if it's good or bad that I didn't need a translation there. Also, legend. Otley is absolutely brilliant!

I suppose we should spend the day uniting against Lancashire, even if Hull is an absolute dive (unless you're into underage alcoholism, I imagine it's great then). Also there is Scunthorpe. And you can't say Scunthorpe without saying...

I was in Lancashire at the weekend, it was nice! Unless they knew people from all over the country would be coming to an Expo and spruced it up with a bit of febreeze.
Hull's not too bad now, we've done it all up!~ When you come from Bradford, Hull is a magical place full of unicorns and happiness ;_; although I am moving to Leeds soon, there's not much keeping me here at the minute.

Leeds is a good choice, I moved there for uni. It's still nothing compared to the great bastion of modern civilization that is Barnsley though.

Yep, and not just one of these Facebook "It'll be funny" event's either, a proper decades old tradition! And you southerners wouldn't make it past Birmingham, even if you made it past our northern defences you'd realise that up here a cardigan isn't going to cut it when the wind gets up!

D; ugh no, my ex lived in Barnsley and I really didn't like it :< I was invited to a hen night in Barnsley, but I knew my idiot ex would some how find out and probably stalk me the whole night and I would GLASS HIS FACE! muahahaha. Anyway, erm, one of the houses I looked at in Leeds smelled like rotten cabbages, so I know to avoid that area! xP

Bah! I could make it to Durham single-handedly wearing a kagool and flip-flops!

Haha, sounds about right! It's not a proper night out in Barnsley unless someone ends up in A&E. Was the house in kirkstall? I lived in a house that smelt like that, mind you there's so much cheap shit housing in Leeds it could be just about anywhere.

Not if I beat you down with my walking stick you couldn't. Or assault you with a beverage above 4% ABV that has some taste to it. No you may not water it down with lemonade.

Nah, it was near Chapletown on Roundhay Road. (Where the Yorkshire Ripper left one of his victims, that put me right off).
We were going to look at a house in Kirkstall but it had gone by the time we rang up about it. Also Kirkstall abbey scares me, my dad used to tell me all sorts of ghost stories about it ;_; what a twat he was! >W<

Oh god, I once went out with a girl that lived in Roundhay. I had to get the bus through Chapeltown to visit her. Going through in the dark was the second most scared I have ever been about getting stabbed and mugged (the first being in a park at night in Liverpool). Kirkstall is a bit of a dump anyway, as is Woodhouse. Anywhere apart from those 3 is fine though.

I take genuine offence at that! I've had 4.5%ABV beverages before and not passed out, I'll have you know!

/southern ponciness (neat brandy & scotch drinker BTW)

On a different note, don't know if you're into cricket, but go Bresnan, on for a five-for and could've had a hat-trick.

As a Yorkshireman you are simply mocking our heritage and that is a form of discrimination !!! I would like to simply say ... Yorkshire puddings are the best, we are not thick and I will never forget where I come from , at least I have some form of an accent that is a talking point .
