I recently sat through Transformers 3 with my dad and cousin. It was actually a lot better than I expected with the action and CGI being really great. However, there were so many times where the movie got so stupid that I just had to yell out something along the lines of "that makes no sense" or "No, that should have killed him/them". I got to wondering if any other movie had this kind of effect.

So escapists, has a movie ever caused you to yell out in the theater and what movie was it?

X-Men Origins, pretty much throughout the whole movie. But I was quite drunk at the time. Then there's Pirates of The Carribean 3, Twilight, and several others. Mostly due to an utter lack of realism (or in the case of Twilight, being absolutely terrible).

I came close once and actually did once.

The one where I came close was I went to see The Last Airbender, that was painful to watch. I wanted to yell so badly but I couldn't since there were a lot of kids in the theatre, and I didn't leave because it was packed and it was going to be a pain to get out.

The one where I actually did was I went with a few friends to go see 28 Days Later, it was an ok movie, but there were times where it didn't make any damn sense. Thankfully, there were three other people there that were doing the same thing we were, so that made the movie much more bearable since we were all making fun of it.

Does it count if I yelled because everyone was clapping?

Cause..people who clap at movies are idiots. Its annoying, rude, and no one hears it who wants to. (ie the actors)

The closest thing like that that I ever came to was at the midnight release of The Dark Knight, when the Warner Bros. logo finally came on, people started cheering because we were all excited for the movie. And then the Legendary Pictures logo came on but everyone had quieted down at that point, so I stood up and yelled "Yeah! Legendary Pictures!" I made everyone in the audience laugh for about the first two minutes of the movie.

E.T. "KILL HIM"
Starship Troopers: "KILL THE *****"
Avatar: "DIE ALREADY"
Sucker Punch had me squealing...
Bourne Identity "That's not the way out!"
Dungeons and Dragons: So much...

I tend to get emotionally involved with the film ;)

Matrix revolutions. At the very end when the Architect and the Orcle are "blah-blah"ing and she says;

"Will you keep your word?"
"Of course. What do you think I am, a human?" (pause for fucking laughter)

At which point I shout "Oh, fuck off!" and not in a joke way. Even thinking about that movie now, what must be about 7 years later, it still pisses me off.

Only once during kick ass, I just had the urge to shout "boooring". Theatre was only half full at this point, few people had already left too.

During one scene in Pirates of the Caribbean: at world's end
there was a fight between the pirate leaders leading to this exchange
Elizabeth: this is madness
Jack: this is politics
Me in theater:This is SPARTA!!!

Haven't really yelled out at a theatre before. If a film pisses me off sufficiently, I'll just leave. Yes, the ultimate expression of contempt for poor cinema...

I agree if it's just, like, a small group of people, but when the whole theatre bursts into applause, it's a pretty fascinating experience.

On that note, my friend bought me a ticket to a midnight screening of the last Harry Potter film (I've never been fussed in midnight screenings, but hey, free film ;) ), and it was both parts of the Deathly Hallows together, so we were obviously all in it for the long haul and the experience... So, Part 2 was full of all of us cheering, laughing and applauding. I went to see it again afterwards with my parents, and the atmosphere then... I couldn't enjoy it as much as the midnight screening.

On a totally different note, I recall me and my (now ex) girlfriend both making loud disappointed sighs when Taylor Lautner walked off screen without removing his top, which amused her family but probably annoyed everyone else...

And me and a friend went to see New Moon as a joke, and took the piss out of it the whole way through. We could hardly stop laughing. So, yep, a few films :p

"HOLY FUCKING SHIT! THAT'S KEITH RICHARDS"

I was watching Pirates of the Carribean 3
This. Only a dude who looked about twenty years older than me went "Who the hell is Keith Richards?" Furious lulz ensued, as did people shushing us.

And yelling is perfectly acceptable?

"These people are making noise! To stop them, I will make even more noise!"

It's why shushing is pointless.

Anyway, no. I've wanted to, but restrained myself.

Whilst watching Star Trek: Generations, many moons ago, Will Riker bellowed "All Hands- brace for impact!"

To which a small voice in the audience rejoined, "Riker's steering!"

I yelled out "They cant hear you clapping!"
It may not solve the issue really there, but who knows, maybe there was less clapping in the future by those people.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

I'm no Harry Potter fan, but my friends were going to see it so I figured, eh, why not.

Packed theater, full of young 'uns whose parents let them stay out late to see the movie.

Lights dim, movie starts, everyone goes silent at once.

At that golden moment of utter silence, I yell out:

"SO WHEN DOES HERMOINE GET RAILED?"
