Defending himself against an insufferable retard
Don't feed the trolls, man.

Also, not to worry: as a dutchman I'm quite confident that the negative stereotype will be mediated soon.

Regardless: fuck that guy. Too many words spent on someone not worthy of your attention.

Ontopic:
No, they didn't. Even if it was in response to the most recent media panic, Blizzard has every right to make light of anything, even if it offends some. If there's one credo (is that dutch? English? I don't even know anymore) I've always embraced it's that everyone has the right to express themselves in any way they see fit, and everyone else has the right to ignore them.
HAH! Excellent way to sum up what I was doing XD

Thanks man. That's why I said I wasn't going to repond to the ass anymore.

To your point, you're exactly right. Freedom of speech, baby. You don't see things like South Park or Family Guy holding back.

Another fun fact: There hasn't been a single pig that's tested positive for this strain of flu. There's hardly any evidence to suggest that it came from pigs.
Actually, it did "come" from pigs. This virus has four types. Although virus' aren't living, you can think of those types as the same "family", just different "species". Originally all four used to infect only pigs, with the fourth one occasionally infecting humans. Then the fourth one mutated and now only infects humans. Because of this, there's five. It did come from pigs, but this particular strain has nothing to do with them.
Well, yeah, but I just meant this particular strain of the virus. An epidemiologist I shant make.
eh... just as long as you don't go around killing all the livestock like the egyptians... lol.
Yeah, I read about that in the Independent(newspaper). There was a briliant sentence about the pointless measures some countries have taken:

In the face of these moves, every so often a WHO official, UN food safety expert, or some other weary specialist would patiently explain to the media that the flu could not be caught from eating pork, Parma or any other kind of ham, and the precise virus in question had yet to be detected in any swine anywhere on the planet.
Also: That's what I meant when I said that this flu didn't come from pigs; that it wasn't caught off pigs in its current incarnation.

They didnt go too far, but with hundreds of people dying from it, they should really think of removing it.
Please tell me that's sarcasm...
Why would that be sarcasm? Do you guys not hear about how hard this is hitting Mexicans? Or do you just not care because 'maybe it will keep those damned foreigners outta your sacred red white and blue country?'

First of all, in case you haven't noticed, this thread has had enough anti-American sentiment. So quit while you're ahead.

Second of all, there have only been about twenty deaths confirmed to be from Swine Flu, and about 200 other suspected.

There haven't been hundreds of deaths. Do the research.

Right, suspected means not real, how naive of me.

I'm kinda insensitive for these "horror outbreak" thingiesand therefore I can see a glimpse of sarcastic humor in this. Though not being funny of value to me, I can still appreciate it.

So no, I don't see a problem.

Did I say that? No. I'm simply saying that you can't say there have been hundreds of deaths when there's no proof that there has been, and even then on a grander scale there haven't been a LOT of deaths. More lives are taken by the normal flu every year. You're blowing it way out of porportion.

Not that this lessens the impact of the deaths... I feel bad for everyone who has lost someone to this. It just isn't some enourmous tragedy.

You say I was blowing it out of proportion? All I said to begin with was 'they should think about removing it' then you started this :p

... Eh... true... I don't know, I guess I'm aggrivated. I've dealt with two people this weekend saying
A) I'm a waste of flesh and
B) All Americans are stupid

I guess it was just your comment on the "precious red white and blue-whateveryousaid" set me off. Sorry if I insulted or caused trouble.

This is a disgrace, not to mention the whole thing being terribly offensive to Blizzard and the WoW community. Think of the inconvenience and distress caused to WoW players the world over by this debuff, and now we have the typically insensitive media sensationalising the whole tragedy with their alarmist reporting.

I hope they're all deeply ashamed.

It's funny, because 5000 people are killed every week worldwide by seasonal flu. So far there have been 15 confirmed deaths caused by swine flu, and 101 suspected deaths by swine flu. AIDS kills 38500 people every week. Spanish Flu killed 50 million people in 1919. This whole thing has been blown out of proportion.

Not really relevant to this particular discussion, but an interesting fact.

Enough of that particular tangent though, I don't see why this would cause any offence.

EDIT:

I think that's a different strain of flu you're thinking of there - The Spanish Flu. I could be wrong though.

Correct me if Im wrong, but isn't this a mutation of that flu?
You are correct, sir. Swine Flu is just a new Spanish Flu, slightly mutated.
Good thing we have antibiotics and aren't waist deep in a world war. Plus, I love your etiquette :)

It wasn't just added. There was a article in the News Room stating that it had been there since the WOTLK beta. Besides, this "epidemic" is really just the best news since the election. Seriously, I don't care about what Michelle Obama is wearing! On a side note, WoW once had a quarentine worthy epidemic a long while back. Good stuff.
I remember that appereantly it got actual scientific info for real life diseases

I think the whole Swine flu thing is mindless and shameless scare-mongering anyway, just like bird flu. Oh my god, it has the ability to wipe out humanity as we know it, take precautions everyone...

Oh wait, that never happened and everyone is still here, alive and well, not mindless zombie birds like the news would have us believe that we'd become.

I actually find this kind of funny, that *might* make me a bad person, but I think Blizzard has a sense of humor. They probably didn't do this to offend anyone, and it's kind of clever.

That was the Spanish Flu. There was a case of Swine Flu back in the 1970's.
