In the past 5 years I had 3 dogs put down and it really made me think back.
You should raise your dogs better then.

I cried when watching Armageddon. The scene with Bruce Willis, the father, sacrificing himself, and his final words with his daughter. Heartbreaking.

Jeez that's harsh. How do you know he doesn't run a dogs-with-cancer trust?

I'm not trying to be tough or anything, but I have never cried due to a film, book, or any other medium.
Guess I'm just dead inside. :)

Admitted, that might have been uncalled for, and quite harsh; I'm sorry, but for however brief/prolonged periods of time, I talk out of my ass.

However, the claim still stands: If it was his/her own dogs, then he needed to raise them better.

Just Like Heaven, War of the worlds and The Notebook are a few that made me cry.

As for books, the 5th Harry Potter one set me off, PS I love you and A child named 'it'

I remember reading the book 'Dead Poet's Society' while on a roadtrip with my family. Nothing worse than silently weeping at a poignant ending then getting whacked by your brother and then interrogated by your parents about your spontanious tears.

A memorable movie that came close to getting me in tears was The Illusionist, but the music probably was 90% of the emotion-generating engine rather than the scene itself. Some movies just get the music spot-on and nail our emotions so well.

Although i dont think i've actually cried at one of these mediums there are definately some that have made me want to, cant think of any films off the top of my head but i could list alot of anime and tv shows that have some very good death scenes that really get to me. Code Geass has a partically good ending that i wont spoil because then it'd lose all impact :p

I may shed an unexpected tear or two in a really sappy movie i don't wanna be watching. No for books, i cant remeber if i have for TV and as for music......... I was kinda sad about when i heard some of Scatman John's music and found out he was dead. But it didn't make me cry. R.I.P. Scatman John Larkins

Bicentennial Man: the ending
The Lion King: when Mufasa dies (there seems to be a theme here)

Yes. When I was in year two, the class was taken to see a theatre production of Big by the local high school, and I walked out of it trying to hide my tears for fear of being seen as an even bigger wuss.

Really. It was sad.

Not so much with films or TV, but there are a few songs that can raise a tear on occasion:

Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb, Wish you Were Here
Jeff Buckley - Hallelujah

There's probably a load more, I can't think right now.

A few years back I shed some tears over Michael J. Fox leaving Spin City.
The last scene really got me.
Oh and this one Episode of Scrubs where Jordans brother (played by Brendon Fraser)died was bad too.
Generally TV-shows have more potential to catch my emotions than every other medium.
