as a guy who's being saying "this Wii U thing is actually pretty good y'know" against rampaging mobs of MS and sony fanbois all night can i move that we give it a new use beyond that implied by its apparent origin ?
Would it make you feel better if I (a Sony customer) said I thought the Wii U was pretty alright? Also, its to late for us to give it a new use. Besides, it wouldn't stop people from using it any way they want.

sorry, but I'm an over-educated prick and don't know what lebron james did
could someone tell me? couldn't find it through google
He's a basketball superstar, and played for Cleveland for the better part of a decade while they never built up a team around him to really accomplish anything.

So he decided to go the Miami for a much better shot at winning championships.

All the Cleveland fans saw this as a huge betrayal, but really you can't blame him for what he did.

You can however blame him for how he did it, he let his decision to stay or leave build up to this huge event and had a special on ESPN called "The Decision" to announce that he was leaving.

So all in all, he made a pretty obvious decision in a pretty dick way and the city and terrible team he left is really bitter about it.

I recently used the phrase "Haters gonna hate", but I believe it was justified. My friend was upset our college hub is putting in a starbucks (even though he loves coffee) simply because the people who go to starbucks are "ugg wearing mac fanboys". When I tried to reason him out of his crazy hatred and countered his every argument, his only response was "No one cares." Therefore,

Haters gonna hate.

Obviously this phrase can be used in the wrong way by stupid people, but the same can be said about any phrase.

While it is true, there are gonna be people who'll argeu and fight with you all day and still never budge on their opinion, I'll admit that just throwing your hands up and saing 'well there's gonna be someone who doesn't like it' is a bit of a defeatist way of looking at things in my opinion.

It goes without saying that there is invariably gonna be someone who hates for everything in the world (I guarantee you that if you search the world far and wide enough there is probably a guy who is hating happiness itself right now), that's not so much a defense for something in an arguement as pointing out the obvious that doesn't really change anything.

That's called "trolling", sir. Pretty much any time anyone says "haters gonna hate", they're trolling you. Which is to say they're deliberately irritating you to get an angry response out of you (NOT just getting angry at you, that's called flaming and is entirely different). People need to learn to differentiate between the two, because those who can't are gigantic, massive, glowing targets for every "real" troll in the world.

Also, haters of haters gonna hate gonna hate.

It's exactly the same as: 'WEll, that's YOUR (note the italics, they're very important in ronouncing this sentence) opinion!'

'Or well, that's (again, italics) your reality.'

It implies not caring about a remark because fuck your remark.

It's a thoroughly Zen mantra that states that one should pursue that which makes them happy and pay no heed to their detractors. There exists a great many people who are incapable of being happy for the success of others if it inspires jealousy, and even if it is subconscious, they will attempt to undermine your determination and willingness to continue achieving your goals. These people are known as "haters", and there is no happiness to be found in appeasing them; they want you to fail because they don't want to be alone. The healthiest thing one can do is to ignore these people and do your thing.

Hence, haters gonna hate.

I think its a stupid argument but can be funny because of all the silly pictures people make of it. I also dislike the argument "There's nothing wrong with it" because it does not further your advancement in terms of arguing its legitimacy, all it does is dismiss the idea in an attempt to convince people that they should not be accusing it. It's like a more passive way of saying "don't be a hater, just accept it".

I think it is a very accurate phrase because people will always find ways to hate things on whatever reason they can find.

Example: I like hip-hop, and this kind of conversation happens to me occasionally:

"How can you like that shit, it's just some dude talking over repetetive music?"

"Because i find the combination of the music and the rapping appealing on an emotional, intellectual or musical level."

"Yeah whatever, it still sounds like shit"

At this point it's clear that the person i'm talking to has simply set his mind to hating hip-hop and there's really no way to argue with him. Thus:

"Haters gonna hate"

Because we would miss out on so many funny pictures.

Sometimes it's used by haters on people trying to make a point. Sometimes though, haters do hate.

Really, I see it more in line with "Deal with it". It's simply an acknowledgment by one party that you aren't going to convince them. Which is actually a pretty self aware statement, and a step above pointlessly arguing in my book. It's internet speak for "Let's agree to disagree".

Also, contributing to image macros.

Substantial is not the same thing as not-insubstantial. Probably why the latter term does, in fact, exist.

"Haters gonna hate" isn't "internet speak", though you do see it frequently on the internet.

When people are trying to say "let's agree to disagree", they usually say "let's agree to disagree". In my experience, the "haters gonna hate" defense is generally deployed as a catch-all cop-out by someone who does something idiotic or egotistical and catches perfectly appropriate flak for it.

Really, it's a conversation killer. You say it when you know you've done something wrong but don't care to suffer the verbal abuse you so richly deserve. It's tantamount to saying "Yes, I am a fucking asshole". And really, that's fine - as long as everyone realizes that's essentially what you're saying.
