i would say they shot themselves in the foot... if it werent for the fact they've do it all the time. And, yet they are still around. Something needs to be done about it now!!!

How many people under age, say 50, get their news from 24 hour news channels? How many Americans period?
I feel the influence of Fox (and CNN and MSNBC, as much as they're stated to have influence) are grossly overestimated. Policy wonks, pundits, politicians, and programming directors of network news programs seem to give them weight in the public discourse, but if you look at ratings, even Fox News Corporation, the highest rated cable news network, pulls in an average of less than 3 million viewers in prime time, or less than 1% of the American population. And over 2/3 of FNC viewers are over 50 years old. Meanwhile, American Idol and Jersey Shore pull in 2 or 3 times that.
The problem is Fox does get pull in the over-50 crowd, which includes a) politicians, and b) people who vote and campaign for politicians. Fox is not going to do stories that take 18-30 year olds into consideration when so few of them watch Fox in the first place.

This is an every day occurrence. Fox News says some outlandish, borderline ridiculous stuff that's only slightly true (if it's true at all), people with brains call them out on it, nothing happens. Morons still tune in every day to watch more outlandish and ridiculous "news".

I'm suprised it's legal for Fox News to spew out the amount of crap that they do. They blatantly make up facts and use them to support their ignorant views and they almost always communicate their opinions as fact. Then label their articles as "fair and balanced", that's false advertising or something surely.
