Poll: Have ponies changed your life?

No, not really. Then again I haven't watched anything MLP related (other than a few fan made mashups/parodies) since the 80's and even then I never really watched the show. At that time I only came into contact with it because my sister and her friends were really into it. Now the only exposure I get to anything MLP related is on the Internet and certainly don't have any desire to go watch the show, old or new.

If you watch FiM, do you think the show has changed your life in any way? Have you become more tolerant? Has it improved your state of mind? I'd say my work ethic and general mood have improved since watching ponies. I think the reason is that I finally have something to fall back to that always makes me happier. Before ponies, my friends provided little emotional support for me when I felt depressed or useless, but now there's a bunch of adorable colorful ponies that never fail to make me smile. I also have started exercising on a regular basis now that I can watch ponies on the treadmill and lifting weights, or listen to pony songs on my iPod while I walk or jog outside. I despise most television and modern music, so there wasn't a lot of ways I could keep myself entertained while exercising. I'd say the show has improved my life quite a bit. How about you guys?

No a childish show, targeted at little girls, to make them buy the product that the show is selling, has not "changed" my life in the way that your describing.

Is there a reason why this thread needed to be put here and not in the the group debate section?

i went with improved a little bit. i mean, it's nothing life changing, and my moral compass is solid so it's not as if the messages were anything new. but it does provide a [stable source of abundant positive energy] which is a rare and valuable commodity for me.

Yes, it has made things 'better'- but lemme put that into perspective: I LOVED ponies as a kid. It was my obsession. I had hundreds of them- Still do, actually, in my parent's garage.

FiM is all at once a cute fun show, a mood lifter when I'm a bit down, a nostalgia trip, and a way to share a part of my childhood with the people I care about now. It's not a life-changing thing, but it certainly brightens the day.

It helped me deal with moving away from Mexico, distracted me from otherwise sad days and occurences. And it helped me meet my current group of friends (Not all are bronies) which made my year way better. Maybe indirectly it changed my life, but I wouldn't worship it for it.

Compared to something like Firefly, MLP is a drop in the bucket of mediocrity.

Well, for me anyway, you guys can like what you want, of course.

It's definitively done a bit for my life. For one thing I have started hanging with more people both who hate the show and who love it just because one girl who sits behind me in trigonometry who I was starting to become friends with heard me whistle Winter Wrap Up one day and now she's one of my best friends because I decided to get to know her better. Also ponies were the reason I started going on the internet and be less shy which made me start actually posting on this site among others.
EDIT: Also I forgot to mention I met quite a few Bronies on CoD Black Ops who I've become pretty good friends with.

It has made my life a little better. It helped remind me (using happiness and comedy) of some of the important facts about friendship and how to deal with trust.

Not to mention, it's just a damn good show.

I watched the first episode or two episodes, (can't remember if it was a two parter) and thought that it was pretty entertaining, had some neat references, some slightly off-beat humour and was silly enough to take my mind off things for a while. However, this whole 'Brony' culture, I just can't stand it. It just seems so pretentious and false. On here it's pretty easy to ignore and just live and let live. On the butthole of the internet however, it's just ridiculous. Pony threads everywhere. All I want is some decent humour and perhaps some titties, yet there's ponies all over the shop!

Gah, it's just a silly fad that I wish would go away! It's made me bitter and old before my time!

Also, I appreciate the irony of me saying it's easy to ignore on here and then posting in this thread anyway, but I need to vent. Badly. [sub]Cigarette time...[/sub]

A town called eureka has, many times, proven to be my happy place.

Me too, I love that show! I very nearly signed up for a physics course for Uni because of that show, but I know that Game Development is where I'll probably succeed so I've opted for that instead. Hell if I make enough money, what's to stop me from going back to Uni and getting a Physics degree anyway! ...or maybe even a Doctorate... Hell, I like the sound of that..

I liked that show better when it was called The Powerpuff Girls, because that's basically all it is. Same style, but less violent, which is literally half the fun of the Powerpuff Girls. No thanks. It's not a bad show, but it's been done before, and better, so I don't see the point.

Ok, cynicism aside. I really enjoy the show, for numerous reasons, and maybe.... Just maybe.... It's made me want to be a little bit more tolerant towards people, but other than that I see the show as entertainment first, at least for me. I find it great that people have been helped through depression via MLP, and the lessons are good for the younger crowd (well, I'd be lying if I said I didn't think a lot of adults could use some reminding of the lessons) but for me, its just a fun little show..... Kinda like the delicious dessert compared to more heavy, thought provoking shows....*

Well yes. If the show never existed all these memes wouldn't exist and I wouldn't be exposed to them so in some small way I suppose it has, if only by virtue of it existing and me knowing about it.

I suppose it's improved my life by giving me an enjoyable show to watch... and some of the pony stuff that fans come up with is clever.
I feel sorry for those people that say it's the only reason they get up in the morning :/
It hasn't taught me anything in particular that I didn't already know. And if you haven't figured out how to be friendly and pleasant to people after 30 years of life, I doubt a cartoon is going to really make that much lasting difference.

But it's given me some cute, fun cartoons to entertain myself with, so "yay!"

Hmm. As much as I enjoy the show, I can't say it has. Although I will admit, it has changed my view on My Little Pony and has helped me appreciate what the previous generations (horrible or not) have helped established.
