No offence to people how have said yes, but all your answers have come across as extremely cheesy. And to be quite honest forced. Like how do I say this a fake moral compass? You seem to be repeating not saying? You want to believe what you are saying, but even you don't? Take your pick, but none of the answers have seemed organic.(Talking about the friendship and happiness stuff, not "I met a few people.")

No, not really. Then again I haven't watched anything MLP related (other than a few fan made mashups/parodies) since the 80's and even then I never really watched the show. At that time I only came into contact with it because my sister and her friends were really into it. Now the only exposure I get to anything MLP related is on the Internet and certainly don't have any desire to go watch the show, old or new.
Well it's not really fair to judge the current generation by the 80's version: If they weren't both about ponies it would be almost unrecognizable.

I didn't say I hated MLP, I'm just not interested in it. Frankly it baffles me that it's become as big as it has, but I hold no animosity against it (unlike Daystar). Although the over-saturation of the forums does get kinda irritating sometimes, other times though it can be amusing.

They've made me block a fuckton of avatars and image macros because I find the art style remarkably unappealing, but not much else.

Yes, in some small ways. I've made a few new friends in real life, something I haven't been able to do in years. Other ways too, but that's the main one. :)

Kind of interesting to see how these threads progress. The whole first page was everybody preparing for the "Incoming shit storm" and the second was a mix of legitimate answers, the former with fans complaining about the fans and non fans complaining about fans. I'm aware that the whole pony thread thing got pretty ugly during the first year of the show and into some of the second, but it really isn't as bad anymore. There are obviously still "super fans" that can turn into assholes when they here a differing opinion about the show on many websites, but at least this website seems to have some of the more reasonable fans on it. I'm not saying this website is exempt from the so called "ponyfags", just that you see less of them (I do anyway). I don't think we have to worry about every single pony thread turning to total hell. We shouldn't stop some of the derailing and topic conversions though, that can get really funny.

Anyway, my answer. My life actually has gotten better to a fair degree, but the fandom had more to do with it then the show. I really love the show and all the people who work on it, but as the others have said before (yes I know very well that it has gotten a bit monotonous) the show didn't change my morals, but it improved my mood immensely and given me a really enjoyable hobby. I have gotten more friends because of it and have strengthened some of my pre existing ones. I don't really mind the fans that are more obnoxious nor the extreme haters that show up every now and then, people will do what they do. Besides I've dealt with worse in some anime fandoms.

I literally lol'd when I saw this thread.
As others have said, this show hasn't affected my life in the slightest. Sure I enjoy it and the whole Brony phenomena has been rather interesting--not to mention my McDonalds ponies underneath Alduin next to my bed--but it hasn't been some crazy life changing show that makes me a better person every time I watch an episode.

You know what has changed my life? Ghost in the Shell.
Before I watched any GitS, I didn't think all that much about humanity, existence, sentience, and what separates humans from non-humans (especially machines). After watching GitS (especially Innocence) there was a period of my life when I didn't think I was alive, when I didn't think my life was any different from a coffee machine. That was a very interesting period of my life where the only thing that got me through it, was watching more GitS. I'm pretty sure the cute little Tachikoma saved my soul, because if it weren't for those cute little mecha-spiders, I'd still be wondering what the point of living is.

MLP:FiM - be friendly and accepting < GitS - question your existence and humanity

And like Daymaterasu said, there are just a lot more shows out there that are better, Firefly being a notable one.

Well, since getting into the show (and subsequently the fandom), I've actually increased my efforts to understand people.

I'm not so short with opinions or as bias as I used to be on certain topics. I'm more willing to look at things that are abnormal and not react with disgust or bewilderment, but with intrigue and sympathy.

Now, this isn't all just from "happy ponies doing happy things and loving friendship," it's from the unexpected turn about of this fandom and my own interest in the actual show, it all really made me think about the concept of perception.

In the end, I feel I've become a much less judgmental person. I'd much rather understand something and the reasons behind it rather than mock it out of my own ignorance.

I've seen every episode but no, it hasn't changed my life in any way. I don't really see how the show could have such a profound impact on someone. But, hey, if it did all the power to ya.

No.

Because my life is not so insignificant and miserable that it can be changed by a single cartoon. No matter how adorable it is.

that is what I was thinking too, though quite confident OP is just trying to annoy people ><

No more than any other show. Not gonna lie it's a good cartoon, but that's just it isn't it? It's just a cartoon.

The show did make me question the sanity of many people on the internet, but then numerous other fandoms have evoked similiar reactions.

I guess I just hate fandoms in general. The show itself is great, proof that My Little Pony needn't be saccharine trash.

If it wasn't for the show I'd be studying, and most likely FAILING, physics and maths. Instead, I'm currently studying animation and I'm doing pretty well.
Also, I'm less cynical. So say what you want about the show, it is overall a good thing to have happened. I think people's future jobs and how happy they are are more important than if you don't want to see your favorite show crossed with MLP.
EDIT: Oh, and I have about twice as many friends now. Mainly because I didn't have that many friends before, but I've met lots of new people who I absolutely love to bits.

All it's changed in my life is that I now hate flash animation even more then I already did (except for South Park).

Also, kudos for covering yourself in pitch like that, OP.
