I have not gotten one yet. But I do not have a 3DS or a WiiU. The only reason I'd get one is because they look sodding great. I really want the Link one. But they are expensive. I'd lvoe the Link one. And Zelda.

Nope, never will either because I'm not gonna support shitty business shenanigans.

And Amiibo's are just good for nothing, and only have a negative impact. To me at least.

Thought I was bad with 15:)

They must be reasonably easy to buy where you live if you have that many.I would love to get a few more but the stores around here are useless and only seem to stock the big name ones like Mario which means I have to buy them online and I refuse to pay more than retail price so that rules out a lot of online sellers

Still hoping to pick up Ganondorf,Wario,Rosalina,Captain Falcon,Bowser Jr,Dr.Mario,Olimar,Zero Suit Samus,Meta Knight,Dedede,Palutena,Pit,Dark Pit and Wool Yoshi at some stage if I can find them at reasonable prices

To be honest I'm still somewhat unsure as to what an Amiibo is. A quick google search and as far as I can tell its a collectors model, but one you (plug in???) to your WiiU to unlock stuff?

This is all reinforcing my opinion that not buying that console with a stupid name and an etch-a-sketch instead of a controller was a good move.

I got into Amiibo slightly later after release. most of them were sold out so i started with a Fox and Pikachu. eventually it grew to about...32 SSB Amiibo. my brother has Link. i don't have Meta Knight, Lucina, Pit, Captain Falcon, Greninja, Jigglypuff, Mega Man and Sonic. got ROB/DHD/G&W pre-ordered and Dedede/Little Mac coming in the post.

I just feel that Nintendo doesn't really utilize the Amiibo that much, i mean it started off with Smash to help promote sales, but the games they're featured in has drifting genre cross-pollination with each over, like Namco was one of the main developers of Smash but how many people would go for Ace Combat...i doubt One Piece gets outside of Japan. Code Name STEAM already has competition within the 2nd party developers who created Fire Emblem/Advance Wars itself and even then...it's just for the Fire Emblem amiibo which at the time ranged from either infamously rare (Marth) or has shaky rarity like Ike/Robin.

Plus there's the case about the Pokemon amiibo, who themselves are used in less games than even Pac-Man, Mega Man AND Sonic. would be a bit thin if they're only used for Pokken Fighters. the idea of selling games with Amiibo is plain weird, i mean it might be justified with Splatoon since it's a new franchise, but Chibi Robo's games has mostly been unreleased outside of Japan and had to change genres just to justify a release which so far makes the amiibo looks like a necessity for the game; it might be like the Kid Icarus: Uprising situation where you can only get the 3DS stands with the game but it might not come with preowned copies which has an ulterior motive of artificially generating sales just for collectors of the amiibo.

Make nice little showoff pieces for franchises with not so much merch, they are £10ish figures, they're just alright. only main complaint is the sheer amount of human characters added during Smash 4 makes the heads slightly generic, Shulk/Robin has that matted hair thing going on. characters like Kirby, Ness, Mario, Yoshi and Bowser Jr is pretty game accurate.

EDIT: Forgot to mention Rosalina in the post too.

Yeah. I bought Megaman and Sonic because I have never had a piece of Megaman or Sonic memorabilia outside of the video games.

On one hand I never got into any of these toy-based games and have in fact been trying to avoid them for fear of starting a spiral effect of blowing hundreds of dollars on them. On the other hand, I wouldn't mind owning a Little Mac or Marth if I could, you know, find them.

And back onto the first hand, I don't think the amiibos look particularly good, what with all that clear support plastic and things like Palutena's "derp" eyes.

Bought 6 on day 1 (Toys R Us had a good deal):
Mario
Kirby
Pikachu
Samus
Link
Yoshi

Have bought more since:
Mega Man (*I love this figure*)
Sonic
Bowser
Pac-Man
Charizard

I only bought the ones I thought the figurines looked good and I have an interest in which includes most of the original cast from Super Smash Bros (N64) and what I think of as "retro-rivalries" which is Mario, Sonic, Mega Man and Pac-Man. All unboxed, sitting in a display together. I kinda want Donkey Kong, but he's not popular, so I'll wait.

Lucky for me, I have a friend who is collecting them all (in box), so he grabs an extra of whichever I want. I'm getting a Rosalina that way, and probably a Bowser Jr. when it comes out. Looking at the release schedule, that's all I will want for now.

I don't really use them in Smash, but I did unlock the costumes in Mario Kart 8. If I ever get Yoshi's Wooly World or Super Mario Maker, I'll use them in that too.

I don't have any, and I don't really see the appeal of them really. It's not like I have the money or the room for them.
