Ever hit the bottle to escape your problems and reality? Hurt by a loved one and wanted to drink it all away? Or maybe something came up that you just didn't want to face?

Have you ever turned to alcohol to escape your problems, or do you think people who do so are weak.

No. I don't drink. I deal with my problems sober.

I do know people who do this though. It's upsetting, and is actually my biggest problem.

no, but that's mostly because I'm not old enough yet. That is, I'm too young to go into bars or buy booze in my home country, I'm old enough to have gotten drunk with friends.

seriously though, i don't think that I will ever turn to booze because of my prolems, maybe a single beer at some point but never anything major.

Oh yeah, totally.

People usually say "you won't find your answers at the bottom of a glass" but you'll be surprised at the amount of times ya do. Especially with heartbreak, it'll heal itself in time and until that time there's nothing wrong with dulling the pain a bit so it's not consstantly grinding away at you.

... I feel like a drink...

I don't drink and never have. Mainly 'cause I think beer and wine taste like shit. >_>

But what isn't bad for you these days?
According to research, sitting in a sterile white room for your whole life.

(Actually, that would be bad, too. Since you would go insane from it.)

No, I don't drink. Not a moral thing, just can't stand the taste.
I go play a game that I know I'll get frustrated at, eg. Modern Warfare 2. Get so angry at that, I forget what I was angry about in the first place.

It's probably not good for my mental health to double up on anger, but whatever.

Maybe a bit. I drink fairly regularly so I'll drink when I have problems, although not because of them.

What exactly constitutes as alcoholicism anyway?

Occasionally earlier (as in 5 years ago). Like, when something happens and I can't stand it being in my own skin and hit it with alcohol. Next day - a new day, to start over again (after finding a way around the headache). Now, no. But it was never a drinking problem, just an overreaction at the moment, and that was not often at all.

When I did drink (Not anymore), I drank to have fun. Never to drown sorrow.

And I never drank to have ADDITIONAL fun with another activity... either I was drinking for the sake of drinking, or I wasn't drinking.
