I have been mistaken as a female a few times. The most recent was the school's receptionist calling me a she. The other time was this old woman coming up to me and asked me a question, "Little girl, what direction is the bus station at?" Perhaps I have a feminine body, but does skinny equal feminine? I don't know.

No because I don't look anything like a girl, I have short hair, broad shoulders, and am over 6 foot tall. It'd be pretty damn hard to mistake me for a girl.

When I was five or six, a store clerk called me "sonny." I was wearing jeans and a dark blue sweatshirt; and, while I had long hair at the time, it was braided back.

It hasn't happened since. Which is amusing, because I've actually played a male character in a skit (not that I have any illusion of it being convincing).

well, being a transsexual, i'm always mistaken for the opposite gender, even by my own family. once i start transitioning, though, hopefully people will stop mistaking me for a guy.

Nope. Although back in middle school, one kid said I sounded like a girl. I haven't really entered puberty at that point.

Not that I can remember, maybe when I was a kid.
I'm a girl and I have long hair and for some reason it seems to be hair that confuses people. I have a female friend with short hair who was mistaken for a guy a number of times but she definitely doesn?t look like a guy :?.

Opposite gender? No.

I have, however, been mistaken for a rock. No, I'm not even joking.
... are you like.... really really lazy or something? :/
I really have no god damned clue. It was a while ago, and all I really remember was me sitting outside wearing a grey sweater, and someone somehow mistook me as being a rock.
Did you inquire on their mental state? I would love to know the drugs they were on.

I do believe I've been mistaken for a girl, some of the whistling is what makes me think that, though look below and tell me if you see the girlishness.

I'm pulling the right face for such a question, which in turn amuses me...

Yep. Had way longer hair back then. My mother was talking to a former co-worker and I was still sitting in the car, half asleep.

The co-worker said "Oh, that must be your *brief pause* daughter." and my mom laughed a little as I got out of the car.

You know, back then I got a bit grumpy from that, but looking back, it all makes sense. What if the co-worker would've said "And that must be your son." and if I were really a chick.

I have kind of long hair, so lots of old conservative republicans assume I must be a girl, because no boy should be allowed to have long hair.

All the freaking time man. I dunno what it is, but its happened so many times I can't count anymore. From bus drivers calling me "Sir", to being thanked for being a gentleman and opening the door, to a group of kids actually trying to convince me I really was a boy. Even being made fun of for looking like Justin Beiber... on many occasions.

I think my favourite time though was when a little boy walked passed me and turned to his dad to say; "Daddy, I thought that was a girl, but its really a boy."

Some would be offended... I happen to dabble in drag so I don't mind; even if all these insidents happened when I wasn't trying.

Two days ago, at a music festival, a guy walked to me and one of the girls I was talking to. He then proceeded to give us some strange suggestions, but she turned him down every time. In the end he took his arm around my shoulders and said: "Wanna dance?" The Girl began to laugh hard, and I grabbed that poor guy around his waist, turned my two weeks unshaven face at him and said: You're on Baby!
But he was running away pretty fast.... :D:D:D

I have a feminine face, but short hair, so people sometimes think I'm a boy from afar. I've had to start wearing more 'feminine' clothes (dresses, etc.) just so that kids and old people would stop calling me "young man". Bah.
