I've been mistaken for a transvestite and a girl. I once had a client's daughter (At the videotstore I work at) tug at her father's sleeve, point at me, and declare "Mon dieu papa! C'est Lisbeth Salander!" :p

People [footnote]always ones no-one likes actually :p[/footnote] have said I looked like a girl, but oddly recognised me straight away as a guy. The only genuine confusion that was not asses being asses was by an old woman once... I don't even know why she spoke to me...

Girl with the Dragon Tattoo? Or am I wrong on that one? Although she was never described as being particularly feminine...

A few times, from a couple of factors... My voice is a bit deep for a girl, and I generally wear guy's clothes, so if I have my hoodie up or something I might be mistaken. My hair is insanely long though.

I have, quite happily, never been mistaken for male. When I was younger, I had uber-long hair (past the small of my back), so that prevented that mistake. And now that I'm older, I've got a decent hourglass figure and a fondness for skirts and short dresses- so despite the pixie cut, it's pretty damn hard to think I'm a guy.

When I was young and my voice sounded rather high. So people would confuse me for a girl whenever I spoke to them on a phone.

I've been mistaken for a girl a few times from behind, apparently by guys with a thing for girls built like rugby forwards. It's the long hair that does it, I think.

The sad thing is: I went to a gender-bender ball where everyone was supposed to costume as the opposite sex.
My friends did a great job, and said I could even be passable. (Not pretty, but still passable)

And no one bought it. :(

An old woman mistook me for a boy when I was around 10 years old. I had my hair tied back quite tightly, and was swimming in a pool. The woman held her granddaughter back as she was about to swim across the pool, saying she should "let this little boy pass first". Fair enough, but I was wearing a flowery swimming costume.

which time do you want? there was the time I had a buzz cut and was called a guy constantly...

though i was a fairly cute guy.....

I would be the one in the blue shirt without the hat. Twas at an old job of mine and this was well after it started growing back
the above photo i got called a guy earlier that day by someone who heard my very feminine voice....

And there is always the classic throw my hair up into a hat and put on a baggy tshirt and jeans and sunglasses and i transform into a guy.....
I would like to point out however that I am very much a female

I was in the hospital as a first time Crohn's surgery patient (they had to remove my entire large intestine). During the surgery they had to pump me full of water so my entire lower body was swollen including my hips. A nurse called me "ma'am" because of the swollen hips. Sigh...

Yes, but to be fair, I was wearing a dress and the man was drunk, and I can be rather... convincing, as a girl.
