All the time and I have short hair and some beard stubble, I don't even have a girlish figure. I have broad shoulders and a long torso and giant hands!
It was the worse in middle school. I had long hair so people always thought I was a girl, or gay...I got beat up a lot those days...HUUUR
and even as I got older I was mistaken for a small girl. Even though I'm nineteen I look like I'm twelve--somewhat. Also...I don't think I've hit puberty yet...I haven't grown any taller and the only real facial hair I have is chin stubble...my voice you can't tell if I'm a man or woman on the phone.
It's like nature didn't know which route to take when making me and said well crap...let's just split you down the middle yes?

I know your pain. Except I do have a girlish figure. Though i recently cut my hair, when it was long and straighted I was always mistaken for a girl. I've had people on the internet hit on me to when I had a pic of myself with long hair. I use Lullabye for most of my internet names so it being rather....ambiguous doesn't help.Tonythion said:

Most of the guys have beards along with long hair. Seeing a person with long hair from behind most people assume it must be a woman, especially now a days when woman use more mens clothing.
Or just because a woman has short hair she has to be a young man.
Plus how is it failing on my part when it's genetic? It's not like I wanted to be short or anything.

Yeah, online... When creating a name online, try to create one that isn't gender ambiguous, or you shall receive creepy messages. And if you're a chick, create one that is decidely masculine, like sk8boy or some shit, or once again; creep messages.

If i want to i can get mistaken for a woman quite easily, i can just make a tone of voice that sounds like a woman.
However i was playing texas hold'em on facebook once and some one thought i was a girl because my profile pic was me when i had long hair and was taken from far enough away that at that size you couldn't see my facial hair. I have since change my profile pic to a cute picture of my cat... now everyone makes fun of how they had sex with my cat... it's kinda disturbing...

Once over the phone. I forget who it actually was, but I don't think my voice sounds like a female... I had actually asked a friend the next day and he didn't think so either. But I let it slide. There's no better way to make a conversation uncomfortable then to correct them on your gender.
