Poll: Have you ever named your console or PC?

My current PC is called Alexis. The name changes whenever I sufficiently overhaul the hardware enough to deem it a new PC. The last PC was called Rachel.

I dunno why, really. Musicians name their guitars, people regularly name their cars, naming my PC - a pretty important thing in my life - seems pretty natural to me.

Plus it's easier to hurl abuse at it for being non co-operative when it has a name.

I've never named one of my guitars... Should i?

My PCs are wafflecopter and carbohydrate, and my portable storage devices are Fat One, The Chubby, and The Throbber Mk II (The first one died a horrible click-of-doom death).

My PCs are named after starchy breads or confections these days, and my storage devices are euphemisms for phalli.

My desktop is nammed Navi. Its a Serial Experiments Lain reference, not Zelda. It was a cheesy joke with my first computer, but it stuck. My Laptop is GLaDOS, because I got it around the release of Portal, and I just couldn't stop myself. The 360 is my roommates, and my Wii, though I have fun with it, never spawned the sense of closeness my computers no.

Strangely, my friends have some of the most high-brow, classy names of there computers. Buddy of mine named his Mac Balthazar, his Windows laptop Caspar, and his Graphing Calculator Melchior (The 3 Wise Men), and another friend of mine has his old computer Durandel. Another friend has...wait no, no, that would get me banned.

Sure, I've named consoles. Computers too. My 360 is named "Lincoln." It's a Zephyr model.

:O That's what my dad's named all the computers he's ever owned since before I was born, usually preceded by the year of its model.

And I think I just named my Gameboy Advance SP 'Pancake'.

:O That's eerily similar to what I named my original GBA: "Hotcake". It was inspired by the Wal-Mart guy who said that I should probably get a GBA soon, 'cause they were selling like hotcakes. I wasn't familiar with that expression, so I thought it was a very silly thing to say, and it stuck with me.

My laptop is frequently referred to as "Compy" or "Lappy", because it's a BURNINATOR!

PS2 is "Ol' Reliable" in my mind only. I've had it for 7 years, and it's still running gorgeously, though I did have to open it to fix a bent controller connection. Complete user error, though. It's a great machine.
